I made the mistake of being inpressed by how knowledgeable the contact person seemed.  She also had a quick answer for all my initial questions and assured me things would go smoothly on my international move.

Once the packers had my furniture and goods my price went up approx $2,000.  They didn't ship on the day agreed upon and now that my goods have arrived in Panama the same thing is happening with the company they contracted on this end.  They are attempting to charge another $5,000.

You have other options. Take Them and save yourself from moving NIGHTMARE!!!!

Unfortunately, you cannot please all the people all the time.

This particular client reserved their move for a 20' container. Prior to their move date, she was advised that her items would not fit into the 20' container so we offered her 2 options:  prioritize the goods and leave behind those items that didn't fit, or upgrade to a 40' container.  The customer chose to upgrade the container size so that she could bring everything with her and didn't need to leave things behind.  All this communication was done in writing with the customer and she agreed to the $2000 price increase (in writing)

The agreed loading date was 3/27 as per the customers verbal and written request.  On the loading date, 3/27, the customer called and wanted to know what time her shipment would be delivered in Panama.  We explained to her that the loading date was 3/27 not the arrival date in Panama.  She miscommunicated the shipping & receiving dates.  The loading was completed as scheduled on 3/27 and the container arrived into port in Panama as scheduled on 4/5.  There were no delays on our end.

In Panama, the shipper did not supply the clearing agent with the necessary documentation, such as her Visa, in order to obtain duty free entry. She was informed, in writing, about all the documentation requirements months before her move date (back in August of 2012).  The $5000 she is mentioning is for taxes (on many new items), port fees, and the customs examination (because her documentation wasn't in order, Panama customs ordered an intensive exam).

RSS LLC did not overcharge the customer by one penny.  Customer was literally walked through the entire process.
