Before we start on RSVP, I should point out that there is absolutely no reason to join any dating site whatsoever that requires any form of PAYMENT.
The paid sites actually give you LESS than the free ones, simply because dating is such a dicey business, they cannot possibly guarantee anything - any who do provide a guarantee that you will meet someone are full of hot air - RUN AWAY.

The safest philosophy - as soon as you see "Credit card" - GET THE HELL OUT!

If they say "100% FREE - No Credit Card Required" - JOIN UP :)

OK, how many of you have tried the various internet dating sites ? There are so many - RSVP.com.au is one of the worst.

As for the site's "Members"...

1. either they don't exist, and are just "made up" profiles put there to make the site look bigger than it is.
2. they are scam users - users that have signed up for the sole purpose of scamming poor guys that are at their most vulnerable/lonely stage in their life.
3. sure, i found a couple of real women, but they all turned out to be either fruitcakes, or girls with unresolved issues with their ex'es.
4. scammers from overseas (russia, nigeria, the uk etc) that are only there to try to extract money from you by using excuses such as sick relatives, needing money to travel etc. Beware - these are the worst kind. They will promise you everything, and will talk to you very sexily, just to con you. - believe me, if they are from the UK or Nigeria, they are there to con you.... Unfortunately, I stupidly lost several thousand dollars.

BEWARE! THE SITE'S MEMBERS LARGELY CONSISTS OF INTERNATIONAL SCAMMERS!

If you start talking to a girl on msn/yahoo, and , within a few days/weeks, she starts talking about moving over here to australia, the warning lights should be on. Do not be fooled by this.. Often, they will tell you that they are working in Africa, dealing in art, and need help to pay for shipping for the art for a client. They may even send you a copy of a (forged) cheque, made out to you to make the scam look more genuine... Its not !

What you will find is, a week or 2 later, your "love of your life" will have an accident (car) in africa, and end up in hospital... They will spoof an email address at doctor.com or something like that to con you into believing that there has been a real accident (IP tracking will show that the doctor has the same originating email IP address as your new girlfriend - thats what made me become suspicious.

Your new girlfriend will then have racked up a large hospital bill in nigeria, and the "doctor" will try all sorts of guilt trips on you to try and get you to pay to get your "love" out of hospital - all this time, she has been fine, plotting with the scammers to be unwell... Even if you manage to talk to your "love" she will play along with the scam, and pretend to be not well.... They will usually ask for AU$10000 or so in medical fees, but it will be payable to a hospital that you cant find exists.. Names used have been "Dr STeve Bamadele, catherine dawson, cathy dawson, tonia dawson" If you are silly enough to send your money, they will continue to milk you... wake up, its a scam. She (catherine/tonia dawson) will also claim that the western union money that you have sent to her has BEEN CLAIMED BY SOMEONE ELSE.... DO NOT send any more money, you will lose it !!!

This scam normally starts as she (catherine/tonia dawson) will start to chat you up on either yahoo messenger or MSN messenger.

Beware these sites/scammers, they are real and will try to suck you in.

The story may vary, but the principle is the same. I will add to this as info comes to my memory - it was a traumatic time, so a lot of it is repressed, but its slowly coming out.
