I had my 2005 Toytota painted on July 11th 2013. Now here it is not even a year yet and the trunk is already showing oxidation and looks like rust is coming through. I took it over to them today and they did not want to say they did a very bad job on the trunk. I ltold them that when they did the trunk it didn't even have signs of rust yet. So the manager or whomever helped me tried to tell me it that the rust was all the down into the metal and we could see this by opening the trunk and taking off the liner. Well low and behold..not a single bit of rust was there. I went on to tell him that I was an educated person and have been around cars my whole life too and that things need to make sense to me and this was not making sense. He tried to say that the bumper had oxidation on it and I said what is the bumper made of? ( already knowing it plastic) he said plastic..I said that's right. This is painting metal and platics..they are 2 totally difference things. I walked away and said" I heard enough!"
My complaint is that they didn't do the trunk right they rushed on it. They also said my car would be ready in 3 days and it took a whole week..which I had to pay even more for a rental car for 2 more days. Also they used touch up paint on the trunk..can you imagine? They also messed up my windshield wipers and never told me. I went to use them a few weeks later and they did not work. I had to get under the hood and repair them myself.
I spent almost $900.00 for this paint job and for the most part the hood and roof look great..The roof was where all the rust and oxidation was..not the trunk..they did a bad job on the trunk and they don't want to honor their work.

Every customer is valued so they are provided a Limited LIfetime Warranty with every repair. There are limitations though to this said warranty.
Our warranty is as follows:

| This is a Limited Warranty and stipulations pertaining to each part stated hereafter: 1. Repair Work: The work provided is under a Lifetime Limited Warranty, from effective date stated herein, on all metalwork and framework to include welding and the application of materials used in making any collision repairs against cracking, flaking, pitting or deterioration, not including rust repairs. 2. Painting: The work provided is under a Lifetime Limited Warranty from effective date stated herein, on painting-related priming and paint work done, including work against: peeling, hazing, and excessive loss of pigmentation. Backed by paint manufacturers warranty. 3. Parts: The work provided is under a Lifetime Limited Warranty from the manufacturer of said parts. Please note that shop warranty does not exceed manufacturer�s warranty. |
Rust was the cause of said issues related to clients complaint. We regretfully were unable to guarantee repair work complaint for reasons related to preexisting condition of corrosion/rust of metal surfaces. Specifically the direct issues of the trunk.
Allthough painted surfaces can fade,discolor,crack,flake,peel and detriorate in different forms from metal to plastic surfaces, these surfaces can be exposed to oxidation which both types of surfaces can suffer from.
Customer was informed by shop of causes of her complaint. She was offered opportunity to seek a second opinion and an evaluation by the paint manufacturer. Customer declined said offer, advised that we insulted her inteligence and left upset that we were not able to correct issue without additional costs to her.
