I used this company when I needed a passport rushed and renewed because i was leaving for Australia in 7 days. I found them online and it sounded like a legit company, so the following morning i called and arranged for them to rush my passport. Immediately, before any matters were handled they needed a credit card to charge the cost of it all. I went through the hassle of getting everything sent in.  They promised if not in 24 hours, it would be 48 hours which was fine because I had a couple of days before i left.

48 hours rolled around and it was impossible to get a straight answer about where my passport was. When i called they kept telling me it was being processed and it should be in their hands by 5pm, and to call back around that time.  I call back and to my surprise the office was closed.  This went on back and forth for about 3 days, By now i was panicking.  Then all of a sudden on friday afternoon around 3pm i get an email saying there was a problem in my paper work, and to call.  When i called the office it was closed and wouldnt be open til monday morning, which is when my flight was scheduled to leave.  Pretty much to sum it up: I missed my trip. The representative you are assigned is impossible to get ahold of, they have no idea what is going on with the passport, they hardly give you an update. and the biggest down fall.. i placed my order. April 1, 2009.... and did not receive my passport until JULY 2009! All that time in  between no one was able to give me an answer about anything. At one point my order was no longer in their system! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Is all a scam to take your money! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

NOT a Rip Off

AUTHOR: Xander - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, April 15, 2011

I have researched the company thoroughly and have contacts
at the Department of State.  I called the
company and talked to individuals there and this is what I found:

1) Rush My Passport is a completely legitimate company.  It is not a scam, and it is regulated by the
Department of State.  They are licensed
couriers and, according to a friend of mine who works at a clerks office in Washington, DC,
they handle like a thousand or more orders for passports a month.

2) The person who said they do not have a refund policy is
wrong.  This was the easiest complaint to
rebuke because it is clearly listed on the terms and conditions.  When I used the service, I asked them how long
I how to cancel and they said 3 business days.
There terms state that it is 24 hours and they told me they had extended
that.

3)  What I found was
that getting a passport can be a bit complicated.  The paperwork has to be exact.  And if you dont follow the instructions given
to you, then what I gather is that YOU are at fault for the delays caused.  If these guys are couriers, then they are the
middle man.  So someone complaining
because the post office messed up the sealing of the documents or someone took
your pictures wrong or because the fed-ex got delivered late and they got
delayed a day, that is NOT the fault of these guys.  That also is listed in the terms.  I checks three other companies and they ALL
had this listed in their terms.  I picked
Rush MY Passport because they seemed the largest, had good ratings, and the guy
I talked to on the phone named Ken was VERY helpful.

So those of you saying this place is a scam, I am happy to
say I didn't miss my trip.  My plane took
off less than a week after I started the process with them and I was on
it.  When I called, someone
answered.  They sent emails and
confirmation along the way.  I would use
them again if I needed it, though because its more expensive, probably not
unless I had to.

I've looked on line and read people proclaiming this place
is a scam.  Where is their proof?  On my desk I have my passport.  Proof THEY are wrong.  So my question is, what did THEY do wrong to
screw up a process that went smoothly for me?

Why not just use the US gov't passport office

AUTHOR: Lenny - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 18, 2009

I can't believe anyone would wait until 7 days before an international trip to get their passport renewed.  Also, my understanding US citizens need an Australian visa before you arrive in Australia.  So how were you planning on getting all that done in 7 days?

There is also no reason to use a 3rd party agency to Expedite your passport, you can do it yourself.

Here is the site for the US Gov't passport office for Expedited passports for people who might need it in the future.

http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_831.html

As of today their expedited service takes 2 to 3 weeks, door-to-door.
