The number of inmates who died while in custody of local jail and prisons increased. One of such trouble jail is Russell county jail in Phenix city, Alabama .
The increase in the jail and prison population from less than 200,000 in 1972 to 2.2 million today has led to unprecedented prison overcrowding and put tremendous strain on state budgets. Jails must be a place of controlled and managed environment, but most of the time in Russell county jail that issue gets out of control .
Correctional officers refused to follow their job description, rules and basic human treatment of inmates in local jail .
Death of inmate in jail occured just recently, September 12, 2017. Sheriff H. Taylor explained to the media it was suicide .... and CPR on unresponsive inmate was performed by jail staff until paramedics were "allowed" finally enter the jail block. They did not know about previous conditions or diseases present in this particular inmate and ... no precautions were taking . Did jail staff need to know health conditions of any of their inmates ?? NO !
Inmate , who died, R.T. , was complaining about chest pain , severe chest pain, was vomiting and sweating . He ask one of the officers to take him to medical office . Correctional officer refused to help R. T.
The other cellmate of R.T. was taking out of their room for " made up " reason . When he came back --- R.T. was dead.
The truth is : inmate most likely died from a heart attack , was denied help from jail medical staff. When one of their officer found him dead, the officer covered his face with a towel . Did not start CPR , they tried to perform ECG on unresponsive inmate . Sorry, too late , they should do ECG , when inmates was alive and complained of chest pain . Nobody was doing CPR , and even more , I am sure jail staff doesn't know much about CPR at all. much less perform CPR on inmates.
Death covered up by Russell County sheriff office .

Many people have been falsely arrested and was treated unjustly due to these married city employees. The clerk of the court in the municipal court and her husband is a police officer. This is why we was denied justice even though our neighbors started the screaming confrontation. It wss down right dirty and criminal with what the police and this clerk did to us. Well we found out from others thet they have denied justice to a whole bunch of people and putting false things on their criminal history to make them suffer and get denied unemployment.
This woman has been the clerk of the court for a very long time, even the city clerk husband was the mayor at one point. So they have allowed injustices to happen in phenix city due to "CONFLICT OF INTEREST" and certain people have been wrongfully jailed.
But this court clerk along with her phenix city cop husband all consipired to do this evil to us, to falsely charge my family member with harassment even though we was harassed.
And I have been harassed this past year by this one cops wife and how she lies to him that i'm harassing her. And he tried to wreck me when I wouldn't let her take my turn. She thinks because she is married to a cop that she can unlawfully harass me and sick her husband cop on me because he was one of the corrupt cops involved in the "CONSPIRACY" to falsely charge my family member with harassment. They all should be jailed themselves because this is not fair or right to victims of crime and harassment like we was and being treated like this by the legal system in phenix city. I never felt so "BETRAYED" because we was the ones who was screamed and cursed at.
And for the police to deny us justice and to side with our harassers is a pure OUTRAGE!. And I have a right to hate and be disgruntled after how my family member was falsely charged and found guilty. And being asked not to sue was another outrage. And telling us not to go around them, while they come around us and have their family move in to spread false rumors about me and have the other neighbors harass us as well.
And the police want to still suspect we are harassing them. They all can kiss off!
THE PHENIX CITYPOLICE ALLOWED OUR NEIGHBORS TO BE FELON CRIMINALS AND ALLOWED THEM TO CONTINUE TO HARASS US. RAY SMITH NEEDS TO BE FIRED FOR HE IS THE REASON WHY HE ALLOWED THIS WRONG AND INJUSTICE TO HAPPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE, EVEN THOUGH WE WAS THE ONE HARASSED CALLED UGLY NAMES AND CURSED AT.

The same clerk wouldn't allow me to file harassment charges because of this landlord harassing me even after I paid him the monthly rent. Its because they know him and his wife is a manager at a local phenix city bank. This landlord kept ringing the door bell late on a sunday night after he had cashed my rent check. His wife also kept harassing me over the phone.
Then he turned off the lights and parked his truck in front of the living room windows shining his truck lights, I then called the phenix city police which was no help because I am a single female and they always side with the males no matter how they are in the wrong.
The phenix city police lied in the police report, I showed them my check and that he cashed the check, and they told him to leave but he told them that he was getting his lawyer after me.
Then a few days later he took out a part in the air condition unit that cooled the house. This creep was the biggest B*****D of person that I have ever met. Then he sent the Sherrif to Evict me and he lied to the court that I was being insuubordinate and being a unruly tentant. For real he took out a part that cools the house and he was accusing me of being the trouble maker.
I don't have to let him in after I paid him the rent. But Ken Davis wouldn't do nothing to help me get justice either, he was on the landlords side about.
On court date he refused to show up in court And I won and he had to pay back my deposit money. But a few years later he was stalking me at the phenix city walmart tyring to attack me.
