I ordered Wiley X safety glasses with prescription inserts through rxsafety.com in March of '08. After several weeks the glasses were not shipped and I called and complained. Conveniently they were ready for shipment and going out that day.
When they arrived I immediately noticed that the prescription was incorrect. My vision through them was blurry and over-magnified. I called and they were very polite and told me they would ship another prescrption insert and to return the incorrect one. To rule out any possibility that I had entered the prescription into their site incorrectly they had me scan and email the original prescription sheet.
The new insert arrived and it was no better. It had the same blurring/magnifying effect. I called again and told them that I wanted to return everything and get a full refund. They agreed to refund my money and emailed a return label. I returned the products and waited.
I am currently in Iraq working twelve hours a day every day, so my time is very limited and I have to wait in line to use a phone. For that reason I also requested they email me several times but they never returned my emails.
When I finally phoned them a month after I mailed the return I was told they would make the refund that day. I was then emailed a refund reciept. They refunded the whole price of the safety glasses but only half the price of the prescription insert. There was no explanation for the shortage. The only guess I can make is that they determined the presctiption was made correctly. Everytime I spoke with them about it they said they couldnt understand how the mistake could have been made. And asked me to look through the insert only which also had the same outcome.
The glasses I am wearing now were made with that prescription and are crystal clear. It was no small difference in vision quality with their lenses. It was a drastic difference and their lenses were totally unacceptable.
Do not use this company. Their customer service is horrible, they are incompetent, and they cannot be trusted to follow through on their word. The amount shorted on the refund was about seventy dollars. And my very little personal time here is more valuable than that. So I will not pursue the remaining money owed and will resign myself to being ripped off.

I have similar experiences as OP.I placed a prescription sunglasses order online with
rx-safety.com on a Oakley Whisker Frame and DriveWear lenses on Jan 15th
2010. The glasses arrived on Feb. 3rd 2010 with a wrong frame so I
shipped the order back on Feb. 5th 2010. The replacement sunglasses did
not arrive until Feb. 24th 2010. I was shocked when I try the new
glasses on. Everything is so blurry, near and far, and the new glasses
makes me feel very dizzy. I thought it may be new and I am not used to
it so I tried it on my way home. I can not see any freeway signing
clearly and the glasses almost caused and accident. I rechecked the
glasses next and below is what I found.
sharper.
2) The focus points are too far apart. If I cover my left eye and look through the right edge of the right side lens with my right eye, things become sharper. same thing happens when I cover my right eye and look through the left side of the left lens with my left eye.
3)Everything (near and far) are VERY blurry and make me very dizzy if I look normally through the lenses with both eyes.
I called on Feb. 25th 2010 and was immediately transfer to a voice mail of Charlie Mantegna. I left a massage but he does not call me back. An email was also sent at the same day and got ignored also.
They keep saying how much money they lost by doing our business but that's not the point. They should not be in business if they can not make their product right. They don't wear the ill-made glasses, we do!! They said the OP only lost $60 and they lost more money. What kind of business attitude is that.
DO NOT but from this company. I made my $300. mistake for ordering from them and end up with a glasses I can not use.

We manufactured a pair of glasses to his specification and they did not work for him. Then we we remade the product 2 times more to try and correct the problem that he was having but he still said they did not work. We lost money all the way around with this customer we bent over backwards to make the glasses work for him.
The glasses were made to exactly what he specified on his prescription form but for some reason the wrap around style bothered his eye's. We offered to put them in a flat frame no charge didn't want that wanted a full refund. We told hime we could not do that we had to follow the return policy that he was aware of and that is posted clearly on our website that we don't give full refunds unless its our mistake and this is not our mistake. There was no mistake on our part we make the lenses 100% to his prescription. Our return policy states that we would give him 1/2 the lens credit plus the full frame cost back towards another pair of glasses from our online sote he didn't want that so we refunded the money to his card so we ended up eating all the labor and shipping 3 times to him.
All he lost was 1/2 the lens credit about 60.00. We didn't run from the problem but unfortuatly not everyone that orders from you will be satisfied and we tried to accomidate him to the best of our abilty.
