Sacramento Learning Tree Academy/Ryan Martin Ripoff School Orangevale California

As a parent who enrolled their child in both the "old" school and the "new" school, there were issues at both and frankly, the seriousness of both sets of issues was disturbing. That said, Ms Martin had no issue with lying to parents about her education, credentials and qualifications. While my child was at Sacramento Learning Tree Academy, the supervision was minimal resulting in very inappropiate behavior. The level of curriculum was amusing at best, infuriating when matched with "Supply Fee" that had to be paid. It makes sense now that the mismanagement of monies may have led to that. 

Ms. Martin may have been on the school grounds for 11 hours a day (be honest, it wasn't 12 because they only operate 7a-6p) but that doesn't mean she was working. As recent as last week, I passed by the school and saw her sitting on the ground on her phone while 1 child rode their bike a good 50 feet from her. Things won't change at this school, or at the other for that matter. After leaving SLTA, I enrolled my child in a public school and it was the best thing I could have done. My child's reading level went from below grade level (it stalled entirely under Ms. Martin) to almost at end of the year grade level during the remainder of the 13-14 school year. 

We all do the best we can with what we have but every child deserves better than a glorified daycare calling itself a school. 

Having had direct contact with this person and school, I completely agree with the first report.  This womad DID steal, lie, cheat and conduct business as described.  One FRIEND who decides to go on and shake her LEGAL tail making accusations and defending what was done is sad... just SAD! (I guarantee she has talked about you behind your back as well... that's all she knows!)

Furthermore, she was NOT fired from the previous school, although the owners had every right and plenty of reasons to do so.  They took the high road and allowed the two women to take over .. further destroying children's lives and their beloved school, so as not to have to deal with any more drama after the end of school.  They had already made it clear they were opening their new school and taking students with them( as far back as February)... their contracts were not renewed.. how foolish would that have been?!  There was some random woman who is a legal aid giving the teachers advice.  Unfortunately, she is about as adept as the two teachers (and I use that term loosly) that she was advising.  How did that work out for you!!!???

As it stands now, the school is a thing of history... hopefully, the children will be able to recoup what little bit of education and knowledge they had coming into this woman's web of lies and deceipt.

So this person who attempted to support and defend said teacher and school, can go support her wherever she goes... I can assure you, if any prospective employer were to look at her history and Google her name or the school, she would not be hired.  Truth speaks volumes ... and the voices of many of her victims will be heard loud and clear!!!

I disagree with your comments and believe as a non lawyer you are bordering on libel and or slander. 

I have been associated with this drama for the last three years and understand the inner workings of both schools. As a financial profesional both schools had their pro's and cons. They are both eesentially small businesses with limited resources.

When you take the emotion out of this situation, it's clear to see this teacher was misled and was set up to be a scape goat.  As a parent, I have seen my child grow tremendously under this teacher and I am very disspointed this situatiion transpired. In many cases the adults acted more like children.

As a financial professional, it wasn't difficult to see this situation coming. The owner of the old school had a disagreement with the staff. The owner fired the staff. The staff made a go of it and tried to start something new. The administrator lost her husband to cancer and did her best to hang in there. The administrator eventually checked out and dumped everything on a teacher who had not been trained as an administrator. The teacher rallied and got help from parents and allies. With help, she finished the school year.

The teacher decided to take the high road and make the decision she could not do this all herself and had enough courage to do the right thing and close the school before the next year started. 

From my understanding there was some period of time this teacher did not receive any compensation for her efforts at all. I could clealry see her there twelve hours a day everyday.

So, in the end you are entitled to your opinion and have the free speech to say whatever you want. It's pretty clear to me this teacher did everything she could. She is a realist, not a criminal.
