Safety Tubs LLC which does business under the name American Standard didn't pay me for 5 of the walk-in Bathtub installs I did.  Most customers were happy, with the exception of one that found the same tub he paid $15000 for, sold at the Home Depot for $4500.  I installed this tub under the direction of, and with a trainer provided by Safety Tubs LLC.  We did what they told us to.  Safety Tubs LLC tried to blame us for what the trainer told us to do.  Main initial complaint was just the type of trim used, but other items were added later.  The other installs the customers were happy.  One install had a drain that was cracked, and a replacement was sent to the customer for me to install, but American Standard hired someone else to do it and Mark Phillips attempted to charge me $1100 for it.  THe customer said they did not have a pump changed, and were only there 45 minutes to change the drain.    They would constantly make excuse how they needed invoices for this expense or that before they could pay me.  Over 2 month, I installed 7 Walk-in Tubs, five remain unpaid..  The agreed amount owed for the work is $15,000, and remains unpaid.  Payment was suppose to be 2 weeks after the install.  Safety Tubs LLC is not registered to do business in the State of NY.  It uses independent contractors to to install and sell the tubs.  Mark Phillips is the install manager is the most unscrupulous person I know.  His job is to drop the price when customers are disatisfied with anything, in order to get the customer to sign the sales form so the finance company pays Safety Tubs LLC.  Since the same tub is sold from Home Depot on special order for $4500, sometimes Mark has to tell customers that the tub is different.  If there are any differences they are extremely minor.

If anyone would do work for this company in the future, all funds should be put in escrow.  Otherwise the company tries to withhold, or not pay its installers.  I paid my workers, but have not been paid yet.  As to customers, I don't think they should do business with a company so unethical as Safety Tubs LLC.  I do not think they will be in business very long with their lack of ethics.
