Can't pay no bills...And am getting denied for Unemployment For no Reason...How can companies act this way, I am losing the chance at other jobs because they are telling everyone this lie!!....

#3 UPDATE Employee

Hi andre, You say that you worked for Safeway for 3-4 months. But don't you know your official hire date? If it was 3months or less than you were still on probation and you can not collect unemployment. You also stated that you did not have "many" write ups. As I also work for Safeway I know that the first 3 months of employment is considered your probation period and that ANY write ups are grounds for termination. So it sounds to me that you were not the "model" employee and that if you want to be angry at someone for not being able to pay your bills then you should direct your anger where anger is needed.
If in fact you were a perfect employee and were let go for as you call it hour shortages after 4 months. You would of been Laid off not fired and would not have had an issue. Hopefully you can learn a lesson from your experience and become a hard worker and not blame others.

Andre,
You only worked 3-4 mos, you are not eligible for unemployment. Unless you worked somewhere before Safeway. Unemployment goes back 12 mos.
Next, you worked for Safeway Store INC as you put it. Not for Safeway Somewhere in Sacramento. Safeway Stores have corporate offices that handle all employment verification inquiries.
You need to be more observant, when no one is in the office or booth or whatever, the staff on the floor answers the outside line, and that can be a bagger or a checker. And that bagger/checker could say anything to the person on the otherside of the phone.
Call any Safeway and ask for the Employment Verification number and only give that out when applying for a job.

Apparently ALL AMERICAN EMPLOYERS TRY TO GET FORMER EMPLOYEES BLACKLISTED SO THEY WON'T HAVE TO PAY UNEMPLOYMENT

You need to APPEAL your denial of unemployment on the grounds that these people lied about you. If you have any documentation as to why they changed your job, cut your hours ( and it should have showed up on your paycheck stubs which is why I tell people to save them) they should be able to swee evidence that your hours were cut and then they let you gvo becauae they had no work for you.
But they will lie and tell the unemployment people all kinds of stuff to avoid paying the unemployment that you rightfully have coming to you.
And while you are appealing, DO NOT LIST THEM AS A JOB REFERENCE --unless you can get a private investigator or an employment attorney to prove that they are giving false job references about you and then YOU CAN SUE THE COMPANY! The pockets are deep enough. Get the lawyer to take it on a contingency basis and you might settle for a year or two wages at a 40-hour regular workweek at your old payrate.
WHY DO THESE EMPLOYERS LIE ABOUT FORMER EMPLOYEES AND TRY TO RUIN THEIR LIVES?
I personally hope you can get a LOT of money for this!
