I signed up for selloffauctions after seeing a report on the (internet)news about how great it was. I, like many others, did not realize that my credit card was being charged until it was to late. I did instant message the customer service dept. right then and ask for my money back and was told that they did not refund any money and would give me more free bids on my account. Never, did they tell my to fill out any form to get my money refunded, they made it very clear that I could not get my money back. I tried everyday to get a refund for the next week or so and all I would get was free bids then they said they could not help my anymore.
So I tried to bid hoping I would at least save enough money to make up for my loss, except the site was down for construction. I checked back everyday and would instant message them, only with the reply it would be back up in 24 hours, then 48 hours, then a few days then no answer. Each time they would add free bids to my account, but nothing to bid on. Now, I can't even get to the page so I can complain. If anyone knows of anything else that I can do, please let me know. I would ask them everytime during the instant message for a phone number so I could speak to them in person and they would not give me any information.
Also, I am very concerned that they may use my credit card again. How can you make sure that this does not happen.
By the way, I do have about 2000 bids if anyone needs them! A bunch of jerks........and they need to pay for what they did to, I assume, alot of people. I hate to think I was the only one dumb enough to trust them, but it will not happen to me again.... or hopefully to anyone else.

That was just an advertisement that was (very thinly) disguised to look like a news program. It still amazes me that this works. Did you notice that the "news" was pretty much anonymous. It didn't say what organization was producing the "news" report, other than some ambiguous reference to Channel4, Channel6 etc...
You really need to ratchet up your level of skepticism when surfing the 'net. Consider the source.
