We signed up for SalesBoom several years and then we canceled over a year ago. We cancelled via email which is listed as a legitimate means to terminate services. Over a year later they are trying to bill us for the service even though we never used it.

The sales people speak great English and make it sound like you are doing business with a legitimate US based company.

After you signup you are directed to people that speak very poor English. I explained in detail the situation. I have all the emails to and from SalesBoom showing that we legitimately requested termination over a year ago.

They DO NOT LISTEN, they will send you to collection bureau which of course we will not be paying.

SalesBoom is a huge RIP OFF.

Be warned not to do business with them.

Untrue Story

AUTHOR: Silas Botwin - (Canada)

Basically the person who submitted this report is not saying the truth. Salesboom cancelation policy is clearly stated in the Terms and Conditions on our web site and it clearly asks clients wishing to terminate the service to send a cancelation letter via registered mail.

The reason we do this, is we can't just cancel our client's accounts based on email for many security reasons. Canceling a client account means their data will not be stored anymore, so we need a written cancelation letter for legal issues. What if a disgruntled ex or current employee of the client, or even a competitor sent us an email to cancel the service for a certain client, should this be enough?

It is an advantage for our clients that their accounts could not be cancelled and data removed without a written letter sent by registered mail.
Also all clients can cancel the service 30 days to the renewal date, which is a standard billing practice in many industries, specifically ours. If they were billed for the service , then they have not cancelled.

If the client was wrongfully charged, a simple call to the credit card merchant company with proof of what they are saying wouldve got him/her money back without sweat.

The fact that the client said it is in our policies to accept termination requests via email is totally untrue as demonstrated by our terms and conditions.

If the client claimed that we changed our policy, you can use the Internet History Machine to verify that this policy has been in place and unchanged since 2003.

Also the person making this claim suggests that we lie saying we are an American based company, we are not. We clearly state on our web site that we are a Canadian company, not American; despite the fact that we do have an operation in USA.

Here is a link to our Terms and Conditions:

Please ask this person for full contact information and the proof of cancelation, and we can get you the scope on his/her account.
