Why would attorney Sallie D.Skipper need to hide her negative reviews on AVVO?
False positive reviews?
When you’re shopping for a holiday gift, looking for a good attorney, a nice place to have dinner or a good hotel, do you pay attention to those online reviews? A lot of people do. After all, most of us put more stock in what regular people have to say about a product or service than we do in company advertising.
The reviews can be helpful, but you have to take them with a grain of salt because there’s strong evidence a significant number of online reviews are fake.
How does this happen?
Company posting phony positive reviews to boost its own business, or a company posting phony positive reviews to hide Regular customers who post negative reviews.
It happens all the time.
Sallie D.Skipper had 3 reviews in 6 years, then a real review from a real person was posted with negative feedback and in one day it has more reviews than it had in the last 6 years.
Business's who post false positive reviews commit fraud.
I've forwarded a copy to the Attorney general.
Do a google search of positive false reviews.
The hiring of this attorney will result in years of mishandling over charging for services, excessive fees,no commutation, missing money from trust account, after signing a contact with this attorney it's been a nightmare.

Please call the Office Right Away

From the four (4) hypothetical questions posed, if any of these has occurred, then there has been a serious breakdown in communication.
Please call right away, and the accountant/bookkeeper and I shall schedule an office appointment at your convenience to review your concerns on a line by line basis. Weekends and evenings are available to work around your busy schedule.
To answer your question about how mistakes are corrected: if there is an error in accounting or billing procedures that is inconsistent with any contract, it is office policy to issue a refund to the client. If a mistake has been made, staff are encouraged to report to me right away. This is because it is necessary to secure a Waiver or approval of accounting from clients before the court will permit any probate file to be closed. Florida Law mandates that estate administrations be closed within 12 months unless "just cause" is shown to the court. Obviously, a client will not sign a waiver or petition to close an estate if there is a billing error; therefore, we have never been faced with an adjustment on a closed administration, but there is no reason why we cannot start now.
If you are a client who has experienced any of these circumstances, then it has not been brought to my, or the court's, attention, we shall act immediately. Please call to schedule that meeting without further delay!

I have a few questions?

1 Do you bill a consultation fee after clients sign a contract?
If so please explain.
2 Do you bill clients for unanswered phone calls to your office? Do you bill clients for any calls to your office?
3 How does your office handle accounting errors?
Example a client discovers several accounting errors made by attorney after probate is closed.
4 Would you bill a client a fee that exceeded the outcome?
Example clients family discovered that his finally paycheck was sent to a general fund held by the state, paycheck was in the amount of $934.00 would you charge client $1200.00 fee to collect his final paycheck?

My mother had them do her will. The only copy they gave her was unsigned so that any modifications she made only would be legal if she took the will back to him to change (and paid him). Of course, we discovered this after her death when the changes she had made (signed and even notarized) to her copy of the will were invalidated. Stay clear, and if you must work with them get SIGNED copies for yourself.

Wrong Attorney and Florida Statues on voiding of Wills by alteration
AUTHOR: Sallie D. Skipper - ()

This report is filed against my name/file, but I am not the attorney who represented the client.
First: The attorney who represented the complainant's mother is not me, but this is posted against my name. That is inaccurate and unprofessional.
Second: There is no attorney/client relationship between the attorney and the family members of the client; therefore, such a report cannot be based on the true transaction, as only the client has the privilege of confidentiality.
Third: The attorney who retained the original as "custodian" was properly handling the matter according to Florida Law. The original must be given to the client only, to protect the client's testamentary intent, and must deposit it with the county Clerk within 10 days of notification of death. (Florida Statute 732.901) The attorney or firm serves only as a custodian of the document. The client may take the document to whomever she chooses for changes.
Fourth: If the original Will had been altered by the client - or her child - then it would have invalidated the document, and may have created the necessity for a judicial determination of the document. The judge must decide whether the Will, in its original form, had been revoked. Changes made afterward are not recognized. The court would decide if the estate should proceed either under a prior will (if there was one), or as though the party had died with no Will at all (intestate).
Fifth: Please refer to Flroida Statute 732.502. A Last Will and Testment cannot be altered after it has been signed in the presence of the witnesses. (It sounds like the lawyer did the client and her family a favor by not releasing the Will to a family member.)

Report is Just Plain Wrong
AUTHOR: Sallie D. Skipper - ()

Dear Thinking Public,
Someone is anomously posting negative reviews of my law firm and me, and this began just a few days ago. Most of the postings are verbatim. This person claims to be a client of mine, but is not. I can tell because the allegations are inconsistent with our office procedures and with mandates by the Florida Courts.
Skipper & Skipper has been in business more than 30 years, and I have been an attorney with the firm for more than 20 years. During that time, there has not been one single complaint - not through our membership with the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce, not through our A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, with nothing less than across-the-board excellent reviews and a 10.0 Superb rating from AVVO, not to The Florida Bar, and not even through AARP Legal Services Network.
A quick comparison of those 30 years of excellence in the legal community contrasted to the rant of someone who is tring to cause damage for some unknown purpose should satisfy the curious mind.
As to the content of this recent Ripoff Report, the person claims that my AVVO reviews are not genuine, but they are. Unlike this reporter, the clients who posted there have provided their names, and some even telephoned me to say that they were outraged by the negative untruth uttered by this non-client, and want to set the record straight.
The report claims that I had his/her negative review hidden, but all I did was to ask the service to verify the source. The service removed the review, apparently unable to verify the identity of the party who posted it.
The Ripoff Reporter claims to have referred this to the State Attorney General. I hope that this person is finally telling the truth, because not only will the facts come out, but so will his/her identity.
Thank you,
Sallie Skipper
