Sam hughes was my horse shoer for a few years and does a great job, he also claims to be able to find homes for horses, however he will lie and  tell you anything to get you to give him your horse for free and he then ships the horse directly to the kill pen in Canada. I had a horse that I mentioned to Sam that I needed to find a good home for for free as long as the horse does not get sold to kill buyers they can have the horse. Sam told me he was looking for a horse for his daughter, I told him great he could have my horse, I trusted him and believed him when he said he wanted my horse for his daughter. The very next Friday I was in Shipshewanna Horse auction and Sam was there but seemed to duck and dive from me, as I watched as they sold kill horses for meat, I noticed ny horse was in the ring being sold for meat. I bid on the horse and bought it back, I never contacted him again but I have found out after investigating, he has dome this to many of his customers and he is a known kill buyer amongst many. He is currently in Shipshewanna at the sale weekly buying horses to ship to Canada. This man is a disgrace to the humane race, he abuses animals as well. He has no regard for a horses life.
