Sam Levitz in Tucson has very unethical advertizing practices. They send out sale ads with no dates on them that say the sale is from Wednesday to Monday only. I recieved an ad from them on Tuesday, and was interested in buyibg a sofa from the ad. Since I recieved it on Tuesday, and it had no dates on it, I assumed it was for a sale starting on the next day, Wednesday.

When I went down to the store however, the salesperson told me that item was not and had not been on sale. I had not brought the flyer, but the salesman said if it was printed in their flyer they would honor it. I drove all the way home and got the flyer (which they probably had behind their desk).

When I got back to the store they said that was last weeks flyer, even though they just told me that item had never been on sale. They said if I had come on Tuesday they would have honored it, but not on Wednesday. Very convenient, as Tuesday is the only day it says the sale is no good on the flyer.

Then they tried to hard sell me into buying the furniture for $200 more with no interest. Well, thats exactl what I had, no interest. I wanted to pay cash anyway. They said there was no way they would honor the ad, so I walked out.

In the end, I didn't let them rip me off, but I did want to warn other not to believe their ads. I'm sure it's no mistake they don't put dates on the ads and mail them out late. Others I have talked to say they've been doing it for years and its always the same with them.

If they aren't ethical up front, how good of a response can you expext when your furniture falls apart after a few weeks, None. My advice, do not shop at Sam Levitz.
