Sam Yampbell Jewelers Replaced solid gold Rolex watch band with an aftermarket part and told me it was sent to Rolex for repair Haddonfield NJ

In 1989 I was in a vechicle accident and the Rolex Presient Day-Date bark finish 18K gold band I was wearing was damaged. I took the watch to Yampells Jewelers in Haddonfield NJ to have it repaired. They told me it was sent off to Rolex and the band was replaced. It was away from the store for about six weeks.  When the watch was back in the shop I went to the store and picked it up. I put it in the box and put the watch in my safety deposit box.

I moved to Florida years ago. The watch was put in another safety deposit down here.

I took the watch to an authorized Rolex dealer down here to have it sent to Rolex in New York to have it serviced before giving it to my son.

Imagaine my surprise when I get a call from the jeweler in which he tells me that Rolex determined the watch band to be an aftermarket part and not a genuine Rolex part. Its still an 18K solid gold band but not made by Rolex. It will cost me 15K to have the proper band installed.

Then I look up Yampell Jewelers today only to find they are out of business. Creditors still havent been paid and Im not sure if all merchandise has been returned to the customers. Now that I know that they have been scheming and scamming customers since the 1980's Im not surpried that the past has caught up with them.

They moved across the street and changed thier name. But they are still the dishonest people running the place.

That doesnt change the fact that the veneer of respectibilty they once had is nowhere to be found and the people responsible for scamming me are still the same ones with thier hand out waiting to get them on your money. Hopefully this place is already out of busioness as well and fewer people have been scammed.
