We bought a 46" dlp from Fry's in March of 2007. We registered online and got the 3 extra months on the manufacturers warranty. In April 2008 it started making a buzzing sound and turning off. We called Samsung and they sent a technician out to fix it. The tech talked about the problem being the power supply or color wheel. Whatever he replaced worked until November 2008 and it started again.

We called Samsung and had to raise cane with them because it was out of warranty - but our argument was it's an ongoing problem that started while it was under warranty. They sent a new tech out to fix it. He replaced some parts and eventually loaded it up and took it to the shop. They kept it for a week and brought it back and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. It has worked fine until yesterday, and here we go again.....

So, I called Samsung and was told since it's past 30 days since the last repair and because it is out of warranty, there's nothing they can do - I'll have to pay for the repair myself. I explained to the csr that this is an ongoing problem and it works for 5 or 6 months then starts buzzing and shutting down again. His words to me were "well we can't just fix everyone's problems for free".

I was hot! My husband ended up talking to the guy and requesting a supervisor and was told their policy is to have a supervisor call back in 2-3 days. When my husband said "good, let me give you my number", the csr changed his tune and took the number and our physical address "just in case we need to send a tech out".

So, now we wait for the call back (if we get one). I am so disappointed in this tv and in Samsung.

After we got "the call" from Samsung tellling us they would not fix the tv, I filed a complaint with the BBB and Texas AG. Samsung responded to the BBB report but still refuses to fix the problem. I have sent a response to their response and are waiting again. I'll update as we go along.
