On October 19, 2003, we purchased a 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager Se from San Diego Auto Connection. After agreeing on the purchase price, we were introduced to Mr. John Carbone who would type up the Sale Contract.
While typing up the contract, he offered to sale us the security alarm, which has already been installed in the vehicle with the price of $500 but we refused to buy it. Then, he said that without the alarm, our monthly payment would be $213.22 with the annual interest rate of 6.49% and paying in 66 months. If we wanted the alarm, there would be only $1 more adding to our monthly payment, which is $214.22 per month.
We took his offer because we thought that by adding just $1 more in the monthly payment, and paying in 66 months, the alarm should only cost around $100. Later on, we found out that he charged us $350 for the alarm. We believed that Mr. John Carbone intended to mislead us into purchasing the alarm with the price of $350. We've been ripped off at least $200.
Please be extremely careful if you intend to do business with the San Diego Auto Connection.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
A $100 Alarm??? learn so that your NEXT car purchase can be a better experience for you.

There are several points here that you need to
1. Why on earth would you want to finance a six year old car for five and a half years???
2. You actually thought you can buy a decent car alarm for $100???
3. Just because some fee or charge can be added to the monthly payment, does NOT mean thats the wise thing to do. That's why so many car dealers SCAM consumers with scum/slime fees! They think up some official sounding name and take your money...after all its just a few dollars per month!
How did this dealer rip you off? Sounds to me like you may need some education on how to buy a car!
