Sandals Construction Keith Tanner talentless contractor rip off did not finish work stole money osteen, Florida

I too have had work done by Keith Tanner of Sandals Construction.  In Dec 2010 he was recommended by a roofing company in Orlando. I was in need of a porch repair before doing a new roof on my house.

 From the very start I was confident with this gentleman.  He was professional, knowledgeable of older houses and even spoke with the roofing company I had hired, about a few areas of the roof he was concerned about.  I gave him the okay to design a look that would blend with my older home. He did not request a deposit on this job and the work was completed early 2011.  I found his employees to be competent and professional.

This past March I contacted Mr. Tanner again and hired him to do a kitchen remodel.  This project took a lot more planning as I had a budget and limited space.  However, I found Mr. Tanner to be very patient and corporative in working with me to get the layout I wanted and to stay within my budget. I am a widow. So, there were many times I has questions or concerns and he was so good at setting my mind at ease that everything would come together nicely.  

My kitchen is completed and it looks wonderful. The person in Ormond Beach who had such an awful experience with Mr. Tanner. I find that so hard to believe that all those things happened. That is so out of character for Mr. Tanner.  I can not believe that he or his employees behaved in such a manner.   I have found Mr. Tanner and his employees to be very experienced professionals who make a living doing quality work.  I highly recommend  Sandals Construction and would not hesitate to hire him again.

You did not finish anything at the house. When the fact that you cut the moldings backwards and used the wrong materials were brought to your attention you did not fix it you demanded payment and then disappeared. You sir are are disgrace to contractors and I have heard you have been off jobs for similar mistakes. You stole over $8500 supplied no materials and completed nothing correctly. Of you were not a loser you would have tried to fix what you did wrong or just refund a portion of what you stole. I have not droppe it I do plan on suing you unless you make thins right and I am just waiting for the complaint i filed with the state to run its course. All you have to do is make an offer. You can deny you installed molding back wards and installed tile sloppy with grout all over it that didn't come off but the truth is every mistake your son and guy made was photographed and sent in. You cheated me and were not professional enough to fix it you took money and never showed back up to finish.

I have recently had Sandals Construction do a remodel on my house and have had the opposite experience of the complaint. Keith Tanner has been a consummate professional in both personal demeanor and quality of work.

He provided an itemized estimate and the few changes that had to be made to it were made with consultation and approval by me. The lines of communication have been open and forthright, and he has gone above and beyond what is required of him in an effort to see the job through to completion. When the work was complete, he and his men cleaned up after themselves so that it was cleaner than when they started. And when time came for payment, he was not pushy at all, but respectful and cordial. While he is not the cheapest, he offers a very high quality of work and I would recommend him to anyone.

Given my experience with Keith and the experiences of others I've talked to, the initial complaint seems to be highly questionable and of doubtful authenticity. I would encourage anyone with the slightest doubt about Sandals Construction to talk to Keith and let him make his own case. He is a very good contractor.

As the owner of Sandals Construction Services it is very disappointing to have a review of this nature for all to read.  Unfortunately the true circumstances of this project are missing from the complaint and far to detailed to explain. 

As a small business owner I take great pride in the work we do and our approach with each customer.  I'm a very hands on, one on one company and understand that word of mouth is the true way to promote any business.

As a contractor you require access to the house to complete your work.  This is difficult when this customer decides to disappear with out notice, not return phone calls or text messages for weeks and not return for almost 45 days.
  
I tried very hard to work with this customer but his constant rants, complete lack of professional courtesy along with his legal, public and financial issues made it necessary to end our working relationship.    

Sandals is in the process of renovating a mother-in-law suite for my husband and I and we couldn't be happier with our decision to use Sandals Construction. Mr. Tanner has been extremely professional and courteous every step of the way and his work is EXCEPTIONAL. After working with Mr. Tanner for the past 6 months the above accusations sound ludicrous and unfounded. I highly recommend Sandals for any of your home repair/renovation needs. Mr. Tanner is not only wonderful to work with, but he is extremely knowledgable and skilled. He has been completely upfront with us concerning cost and the work he and his crew have performed. SANDALS IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

I was referred to Sandals Construction from individuals who have repeatedly used them, and was specifically told that Keith was a honest and thorough.  My experience with him and his crew has been exactly that.  

When I first met with Keith, I was impressed with his manner - he was considerate of my ideas and hopes of the reconstruction of my project.  He didn't rush me through the intake, he repeated what he heard so that he understood exactly what my wishes were.  I felt comfortable when he left that he knew exactly what I wanted.  His estimate was clear - everything was spelled out of what was included and what was my responsibility.  I called him to go over the estimate to make sure I understood everything clearly and he patiently walked me through what we had discussed and explained exactly what the estimate covered.

His employees have been professional, respectful and considerate.  Keith, himself, made himself available to wait for 4 hours for a product delivery to my house when an unexpected situation made it impossible to wait myself.  I have never heard of anyone do that, I was so impressed and thankful to have a contractor of character.  

My project is almost complete, but instead of trying to rush through and tie up the project, Keith comes to look and make note of what needs to be touched up, adjusted, etc.  I have every confidence that he will not leave until I am 100% satisfied.  Keith is an outstanding contractor.
