So, I contacted them and sat down and spoke with a Representative at SBC. I was told there to my face that the class/program for sonography was not yet open, so I should start with medical assisting. I was told that I could start with MA and switch over to sonography when the program opens in spring of 2008.
I enrolled for the MA program and I waited. My friend also attended the college with me and ended up quitting entirely because they were not opening the program as they said they would in spring. My friend and I kept speaking with different people at the college trying to get information on the program, but no one was helping us at all. Spring finally came and went. The college was still advertising the sonography program they did not have.
I finally received an answer more then half way through my MA classes from my representative there and she said that the program was going to open at the end of November 2008. I asked her about trying to get into the program and was told that I couldn't switch, I had to take all these tests, and go before a committee. I ended up finishing the MA program and did not bother with the sonography program at all.
They were saying the same thing for their radiography class also. I had classes with many students who were in the same exact boat I was in and were being told the same exact things. We were given a run around and mislead into taking a program that we did not need while we waited for a program to open up that they never had and advertised it.
I don't know if I should mention how unprofessional some of the teachers there are, and how some students would walk into my class while class is in session and disrupt everyone. Or, some of my teachers would be late everyday to class, flirt with students, pass students who never came to class, made fun of students in front of everyone, and just did not spend time actually teaching us the course material.
I feel like I wasted so much money and time going there. I didn't learn that much because the teachers did not take it serious, and now I'm paying back loans for a program I had no interest in in the first place.

I would have withdrawn immediately if a school didn't have the program I signed up for. Just another example of Sanford-Brown/ CEC's unethical and misleading business practices - at least you only lost a year to that place.
