WARNING! New Teachers STAY AWAY! This district is very corrupt and has an annual teacher turn over of about 87% of their teachers every year. They do this deliverately  to insure a low payout on the teacher salary schedule, and insure that the upper administrationssalary is absurdly high for a 6 school district. 

Teachers here are extremely overworked, treated poorly, underpaid, the benefits are a poor bargain that you will have to pay for. Most of the teachers are recruited from northern states because this district is known to be a poor one to work for throughout Arizona's universities. Do not come here and think you will be staying more than a year. It rarely happens.

Arizona is a non-union state and the local teacher's association is very small and very powerless. Teachers are treated worse than any minimum wage earner. You will be powerless to do anything about it. If you want to return home before the second week in January you will be fined enormously.

Your net bring home will be less than you ever imagined because you will have Arizona Retirement and all your benefits deducted from your gross. As a non-union state, ARizona school districts contribute a small amount to your benefits and you pay the rest of the premiums.

Students here get only 15 minutes of recess per day and only  15 minutes to eat. You will get no other breaks all day. Your planning period will be taken up by mandatory meetings. Your evenings and weekends will be used up doing mandatory paperwork.

Do not pay to move here from across state. If you live in Arizona go to another school district. All civilization except for retirees is 75 miles north of Rio Rico. This is no place for single adults.
