We found a listing on Craigslist in Minneapolis for a nice rental with one picture listed.  We contacted the listing, and received an email back from sarah@properties4rent.biz.  The email is below.  "She" would not give out her phone number to schedule a showing, and only asked my mother for her phone number.  She asked that we show up at the showing (that was not scheuled yet) with a rental history report, printed from rentalverified.com.  My mother went ahead and paid for that report, thinking it was part of the application process.  Since we've spent that money, this sarah person AND the listing, have disappeared, and we have emailed her multiple times without any response whatsoever.

Once we searched her email on the internet, we saw the multiple scam entries and knew that we had been taken by a fake rental listing.

My mother is a senior, who needs to find a place to rental asap, and I am going to do everything I can to make sure that everyone knows sarah@properties4rent.biz is a scam.

Thank you for asking about my 2 bedrooms 2.0 baths home for rent.

The are plenty of reasons to visit this home. It has been well maintained and the kitchen will make you feel right at home. The closets are large, the bedrooms are comfortable, and the windows let in natural light.

To rent our home we require the following:

1. Rental Agreement (month to month, 6 months, or 1 year)
2. Completed background check for each applicant
3. Valid Driver's License or Photo ID
4. First months rent

Background checks can be done online using Rental Verified: link.

If you have a criminal record or poor rental history, don't worry, I'll work something out.

This property has not had any prior pets yet accepts pets. It does not have any stains, smells, or odors. We do not have any breed restrictions and we do not require a fee or charge a deposit.

If your pet causes damage to the property, you will be responsible for all repairs.

I'll bring the lease agreement with me to the viewing. I also do require background checks to be completed by all my applicants.

When you're done with your background check and are ready to setup a walk thru, let me know. It's in a .pdf file and you can print it and bring to the showing or email it to me.

I would like to be able to contact you around your busy schedule. What's the best phone number to contact you at?

I will be available tomorrow, Tuesday, and my availability can change daily, and my availability changes daily. Can you think of a time that might work?

Thanks again and let me know if I can answer any questions for you.
