Savannah Dream Vacations Rented a place that was not available which caused my daughter to miss a competition and me to pay a 100.00 fee for cancelling a car rental at the last minute. Georgia

I rented a property on Feb. 20, 2018 managed by Savannah Dream Vacations on VRBO.com.  We were to stay in the property Mar. 1-4, 2018.

  I paid in full up front and received a confirmation from VRBO.  I thought it was a done deal.  I logged into my VRBO account on Feb. 28, 2018 and noticed it had been cancelled.  After a few calls to Savannah Dream Vacations, I was able to speak to someone who stated that Savannah Dream Vacations themselves had sent out a confirmation email that I had missed.  I explained nothing in the reservation warned me to be on the lookout for an email from anyone other than VRBO.  Since I didn't see the email, the reservation got cancelled and I got hit with 150.00 fee.  

The person I spoke with pretty much blamed it on VRBO and I explained to her that if there was a communication or lack of continuity between her company and VRBO that was not my issue as a consumer.  If I log in and pay, I think it's over.  I'm not expecting an email from someone else, especially when I wasn't notified to be on the lookout for one.

Savannah Dream Vacations  ended up having one more rental available during my travel dates which cost 500.00 more.  I decided to rent that place instead, since my daughter was competing in a gymnastics competition.  I called Savannah Dream Vacations directly to make the reservation because by this time, I did not trust their online system.I rented the place by speaking direatly to the person at the office and once again thought the deal was over.

10 minutes later (on the day before my departure) I get a call from the person I spoke with to tell me the place she rented me was not available because it was under repair construction, even though they had the place listed on their site and VRBO and she directly rented it to me.

This cause me to have to cancel my trip entirely, and take a 100.00 hit on my car rental reservation, plus having to break the news to a 12 year old, that she can't compete in the competition.

I would recommend to stay away from using Savannah Dream Vacations for your travels.  They seem to be a very disorganized company which does not want to accept responsibility.
