We lost our savings in the stock market crash and the company that I sold my businees to defaulted in their payments after 3 years causing me to fall behind in my mortgage payments. I contracted Save My Home USA and Bret Amidon to revise my loan to lower the balance and payments and paid them $2000.00 up front.
After around 9 months of there negioting my mortgagas and hundreds of calls saying "that it could be done any daynow" working this new loan, they did not and we lost our hone to forclosure on Oct. 18, 2010 and of the $2000.00 up front paymnet.
I want monies returned and damages.

#2 Consumer Suggestion
Independent Middle Men Saying They Will Modify A Mortgage

Unfortunate but totally avoidable. Why would you pay an independent company, a middle man, to modify your mortgage instead of going to the bank that holds the mortgage? It makes no sense to me. If you can't get your bank to modify your mortgage, then hiring someone else to try and get them to do it isn't going to work. The bank either will or won't agree to modify it. Sure, anybody will take your money and tell you they will do it or try to but it doesn't mean they can and they will string you along for as long as they can because you are a willing to pay them to do it. I would suggest you never hire any middle man to try and get your loan modified. Contact the bank yourself. They either will or won't modify your mortgage and, if they won't, then sell the house and buy another that is more affordable. Be realistic and don't whine about how the house has lost value. It may not be the best time to sell but if it was, you wouldn't be needing to sell the house. Further, sue this other company in Small Claims Court. Along with the filing of the suit, serve a Subpoena subpoenaing all records pertaining to your case including, all correspondence they had with your bank regarding their attempts to modify your mortgage. Then, you will see what they did, if anything, and you may be able to show just how crooked they are. If they fail to show $2,000 worth of services or an early response from the bank saying that they won't modify, then you can prove they strung you along knowing very well... and that they should have returned most of your money. Good luck and don't fall victim again.

and read that comment in its entirety, okay? That comment was posted on September 3, 2007, a little over a year before the stock market crash, which occurred on September 29, 2008.
Then type in 266476 and go to 'Consumer Comment #6' and read the beginning of the 4th paragraph, which was posted on August 26, 2007, a little over a year before the stock market crash.
Finally, type in 269041 and go to 'Consumer Comment #3' entitled- "Blame it on a Lawyer", and read the entire comment, which was posted on August 21, 2007.
Good luck to you.
