On Saturday, 28 Jun, I received a message from SBC Yahoo welcoming me to their site. I wondered about this since as I have ABC DSL, maybe I had something to do with Yahoo now since they merged. I opened the e:mail from SBC. I don't know why, but I just happened to glance at the TO: address. It was NOT my e:mail address.

Then, in the afternoon and eveing I began to receive e:mails addressed to this other e:mail address. Some were a little racy, and not in English (I didn't not recognize the language, but found out the person's who e:mail I was receiving lives in Korea). I immediately called SBC; talked for about on hour or so: nothing happened. CAll was elevated to a second tier, different person, different state. Another hour goes by. Still nothing.

The next day, I get on to my NEW SBC Yahoo site, and it says "Welcome .........". Apparantly some how, SBC nor Yahoo knows how, my account the other account of ........ got merged. His name appears, my address appears, his phone number appears, my city/state appears, and his personal data appears. So I am still getting e:mails addressed to him on Sunday. I talked to another SBC/Yahoo person: OK, test messages go back and forth. The test message to MY e:mail address comes OK. The test message to HIS e:mail address ALSO comes to me. Still not fixed.

Last night, monday, spent another two hours with SBC/Yahoo. They have advised me that since the accounts were merged, there is nothing they can do. I received a really nasty e:mail from the other "owner" and he wants to know why I stole his site and personal data and all his files. Well, dumb me, tried to reply to his message: and who gets it, well no one but ME!!!!! So, this time I get online with from SBC/Yahoo.

After an hour or so, come to the conclusion that nothing can be done; he wants me to change my e:mail address. No way, says I: have had that screen name for 6 years now and there is NO way I am going to change. The other e:mail addressee is a free yahoo account: ......_......@yahoo.com. My address is .......@ameritech.net. (I have inserted the ..... to protect the innocent(!) ). My suggestion is that SBC Yahoo delete the other e:mail address.

They say they can't do it. So, in the meantime, I have four e:mail address of folks from SBC/Yahoo. Guess who is going to be forwarded all the e:mails that come to my inbox with the other e:mail address on it????? Yeah, you guessed it! Anybody out there in SBC/Yahoo reading this??????
The saga continures.
