 Being a subcontractor for a company such as SBG Digital, one is paid via 1099, and therefor is considered an "independant contractor" rather than an employee. That being said, an "independant contractor" is required to have liability insurance for protection in the event of a damage claim. Makes perfect sense, right?

But, if you don't get your own policy (about $600/year), Barry Garnes at SBG Digital will charge you 10% of your income (A LOT more than $600/year) and put you on HIS liability insurance.

The only issue is that you aren't actually covered on his policy, and if you do have a damage claim, he will pay it, then payroll deduct the amount of the claim from your check! Yeah, I can't figure it out, either.

Is it even LEGAL?
