scana is a con artist. they turn your gas off over 40.00 or 50.00. then charge you a 50.00 reconnect fee. some months back they cut mine off over $50.00, i paid everything to get it back on.. last month they cut it off over 42.00, so, i again paid the bill in full as well as a 50.00 reconnect fee. they had JUST read the meter for the new bill for april. so, i monitor my bill online in april, all it says is that i have no bill and a 9.58 credit...no explanation of why i have a credit, i should not of had a credit. so finally, in may i check it and i have a bill for 76.00!! i'm flabbergasted as to why. so i call them. THESE MANIPULATIVE ***'S use my reconnect fee to go on and pay my april bill instead of applying it correctly. i am angry because i would of been able to pay the 37.00 bill for april on time, so i tell her, i cannot come up with that at this moment and that it was wrong of them to apply my reconnect fee to my new bill. i was advised to call back on 5/15/2014 to make payment arrangements  and that would give me more time rather than make the arrangements that day. my hours at my day job had just begun to be cut drastically so i was panicing about it. well lo and behold, on the 15th, i forget. i had my grandson who was very sick and at the dr office all day for a work in so i forgot to call them...i did call them on the 20th, yesterday to make an arrangement. she said it was scheduled for disconnect on the previous day, but it was not showing that it was actually disconnected..apparently it is...what i am angry about is the fact that i strive to keep my bill low, only for the hot water heater, i do not, never have and never will, use this dinosaur of a furnace to heat with. i use space heaters...yes, i forget sometimes, and sometimes i have a hard time, but i pay my bill. their business pracitces are manipulative and deceitful, its like once they get a reconnect fee out of you, they keep on doing it to get more and more money. yes we are low income and/or credit challenged. and that is never going to change when business' such as this, who are supposed to HELP keep kicking you in the throat with exorbiant fees everytime you are a few seconds late, an in some instances, not even late yet...no other utility company is like this at all...

SCANA Energy's Regulated Division does provide natural gas service for consumers who are low-income qualified through the Georgia Department of Human Services or for consumers unable to obtain or maintain natural gas service from another marketer due to credit issues.   We are also regulated by the Georgia Public Service Commission and in compliance with the rules and regulations established for the Regulated Provider.
