Schiel and Denver published 52 books in 2011, 59 books in 2012 and only 3 books this year (2013).Clearly there is a problem with the company. Schiel and Denver appeared in The Writers' and Artists' Year Book 2013 edition but they do not appear in the 2014 edition. That's because they probably found out they have a bad reputation. I reside in the UK but agreed to purchase the US publishing package for $8500 in December 2013, as it was more affordable. I am a single parent who obtained a loan of £2000 as well as receiving assistance from my retired parents to afford this cost. I signed the contract and they advised that my book will be published in April 2013.

They emailed me the edited book and book cover only one week before the publishing date. This made it obvious that my book would not be ready in time for this date. They trick clients by giving an unrealistic publishing date to encourage us to pay them early. I paid for a package where I would receive my book after 3 months, when maybe it is normal for them to take 1 year to deliver the goods. When I read the manuscript, I could not believe the number of grammatical errors that appeared in the manuscript that they took 3 months to edit. I subsequently emailed them, advising them of all the mistakes they made.

I told them to use the spell check option in Microsoft Word to help them along (this is basic common sense) as it was clear that they do not have adequate literacy skills to edit a 200+ paged manuscript to acceptable standards. Although Schiel and Denver have received payment in full, to this day they have not published my book. The last time I heard from them was at the end of May 2013 and since then they have been ignoring my emails. They promised my book would appear on the Barnes and Noble, Waterstones and Amazon online stores at the end of April 2013 to allow pre-order sales. However, when I do a search my book still does not exist on these websites.

They said they were in the process of signing my book up for the approaching book fairs but unfortunately, we have missed the Beijing book fair, which is in August. As I live in the UK, my only contact throughout this process has been with one of the UK editors who was doing a great job of liaising with the US editors on my behalf before I paid all the money. Now since they have received payment in full, my UK contact has stopped communicating with me, this forced me to write to the Texas branch and they have not responded either. Why would a company make their clients feel that they have stolen there money. A good reputation is worth more that gold.

They have my book, my money and receiving interest on my money, where as I have nothing. This company is dishonest, talentless, unintelligent and too stupid to work out that ultimately they are damaging their own business by treating their clients in this way, because with this modern way of communicating, word of their bad reputation will spread like wild fire. Schiel and Denver have treated us as if we do no exist, but one day 'Schiel and Denver' you will not exist as a publishing company and we authors will become established, successful and wealthy, without you.
