I brought this guy in for a third time and he completely turned into a cash grabber  (((REDACTED)))

I left a voicemail to call by end of business or I was gonna stop pmt. He denies getting the message and waited

untill after he knew the check was  cancelled to restart communications.  After agreeing to an amount, I requested

a new invoice, which I received.  But he then decided to go after original quote plus fees.  He made mention to

the fact that I looked like I was well off and doing good.  I would never let this guy in my house again.  Also, on the

secon job I gave him he said he needed to do extra work and get extra supplies.  So more $$$.  That doesn't seem to

coincide with his website claim of

"Licensed, Bonded & Insured, our plumbing company is fully Licensed, Bonded & Insured. We encourage you to check these credentials, because not all plumbers in the Tampa Bay Area are, even though they may say that they are. Your home is your biggest asset and should to be taken care of by a professional plumber in the Tampa Bay area.

Second, your satisfaction, and the work we perform, is 100% guaranteed.

Third, and possibly the most important to you, we tell you before we start a job exactly what it will cost and that price will not change even if it takes more time or materials to complete the job! Never any hidden fees or charges.

Rebuttal to Complaint

AUTHOR: scotland's Plumbing Service, Inc. - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, May 22, 2015

I first met this guy when I was working for a local plumbing company.  He needed a toilet installed but said the quote was too high and asked me to come back later and do it on the side for a reduced amount…I told him no.  I did let him know that I was starting my own business in a few months and gave him my number to call if he needed any plumbing services after I had my business set up.  There were no problems/complaints with this service call.

He called again, after I started my own company, to install another toilet.  This is the only service call where I needed to add any extra costs because when the toilet was removed, I discovered that the flange was broken.  I immediately showed him the broken flange, gave him a price to replace it, and he approved the additional costs.  There were no problems/complaints with this service call as well.

It was the next service call when his complaint arises.  He wanted a bathroom vanity and 3rd toilet installed.  After agreeing to the price, I completed the work.

After the work was completed, he seemed very happy with the results and even asked about future work he wanted done.  He DID NOT contact me later about the price and I only found out after I received the notice from the bank that he had “stopped payment”.  I called him to find out why and he said that he felt the price was too high.  Although the time to decide this is before he signs the Invoice agreeing to the price, I did agree to lower the price and sent a new Invoice for payment.  Also, I NEVER said he looked like he was well off and doing good—this is a complete fabrication!

However, after finding out from another plumber that it is illegal to stop payment on services after they were agreed to and performed, I researched the situation and found that he not only needed to pay the original amount, he also needed to pay my bank fees for the stop payment, and sent a letter to him stating this.

He claimed that he had sent a check for the reduced amount, but we didn’t receive it until well after he received the letter from us requesting the full amount, plus fees.

My company IS Licensed, Bonded and Insured and that information is readily available through the State.

We do guarantee our work 100%, and you will see from his complaint that he did not mention the work.  Some people will never be satisfied with the price, but again, the time to discuss price is BEFORE the Invoice is signed, effectively agreeing to the scope of work and price.
