 This post is false, as is the name used. It is posted by a man named Gary Giordano, the American accused of luring Robyn Gardner to the island of Aruba, purchasing a $1 million insurance policy on her life, then murdering her and attempting to collect on the life insurance policy. He is posting these false accusations all over the internet. Scottsdale Multimedia, Inc. and its principals, J.L. Thompson and John Bingham, have obtained an INJUNCTION AGAINST HARASSMENT against Gary V. Here is how the fraud/scam works. They contact you via their professionally designed website or they send you marketing material via US Mail. They arrange a three-way call between you, John H. Bingham and James L. Thompson whom are really the only “employees” of the company. John H. Bingham presents himself as the President of Scottsdale Multimedia Inc. and James L. Thompson presents himself as the Editor in Chief. In reality, James L. Thompson is the owner as documented in the Scottsdale Multimedia Inc Articles of Incorporation where John H. Bingham’s’ name does not appear at all. Their technique is to get you on the phone as soon as possible to maximize their con-artist skills that are not as effective in emails and other forms of communications. Once they have you on the phone, they defer any requests for references or examples of their work by explaining they are ghostwriters and therefore unable to share such information as they are bound by strict confidentiality agreements. In fact, they will give you no information that legitimizes their company story at all because no such information exists.

Now for the big lie. They work as a team on the phone playing off each other’s lies and complimenting one another. John H Bingham acts as the President of the company and praises James L. Thompson as the best writer he has ever known. They use well-known con-artist techniques like the “take away” and “reversal” techniques. Using their favorite go to, the “take away”, they say they are really interviewing you more than you are interviewing them because they turn down 9 out of 10 requests for their world-class services. They go on to tell the victim that they are so busy that they might not be able to fit you into their busy schedule because all their writers are already working with other clients on the next big best seller. If you push them hard to share with you any type of referral or example of their work, they will suggest they you might not be a good fit for them sighting your breach in their core values of trust and respect. Soon they ask you what your budget is, “how much do you have to spend to tell your important story”.

If you have not hung up on them yet, they will explain how their imaginary company works. They tell you they will send you a confidentiality agreement right away to protect your story and create a relationship bond with you immediately. Next, they explain they have scores of writers to whom they will interview to best match your voice for the best results. Therefore, they need to conduct a recorded interview you as soon as possible in order to get the author search process going. They explain that their writers will have to produce a sample chapter that both Bingham and Thompson will scrutinize for clarity of voice and writing excellence.

The close: John H. Bingham will send you a sample contract usually asking for $25,000 in four equal nonrefundable installments and if you act fast…lucky for you, James L. Thompson (as John will affectionately refer to as “JL”) is magically available to work personally on your book!! Bingham will instruct you to sent the first payment immediately and give you specific instruction how and where to send the check. The check will be immediately deposited before you even meet these two thieves. They will continue to steal your money until you get wise to their fraud/scam.

Phase Two: If you find yourself sending in the “deposit”, they will strongly suggest that they come to you if you pay for the travel and other expenses. That way they can save themselves the rent money needed to rent their hourly fake office in Tempe, Arizona. If you visit them in their fake office, the con begins, the office space seems legitimate as James, “JL” walks you into the reception area in Tempe where the receptionists greets him by name “as previously agreed upon” “Hi JL, how are you this morning? Here is your daily mail”.  The office space appears to be impressive all abuzz with processionals going about their day.  Mr. Thompson walks you to a tiny windowless 10x10 room and closes the door. The room has a deck, chair and a phone. It quickly becomes obvious that the sanitized room has no personal effect, books, etc. The blood suddenly rushes from your face when it finally dawns on you that it is all a fraudulent scam that you are in a cheap rented office space made to look like a legitimate business. The other people and businesses in the office space might be legit however, have nothing to do with Scottsdale Multimedia Inc.  James L. Thompson lives in Tempe Arizona near the rent-a-office located at 60 E Rio Salado Parkway, Suite 900 Tempe, Arizona 85281, 480-366-5800. The office space is owned by Regus headquartered in Luxembourg, LUX “22 locations in Tempe. Fully furnished. Ready when you are.” Providing Day offices- Private space by the day and by the hour.

Their "company" Scottsdale Multimedia Inc. is registered as a Nevada Corporation however; their license to do business has been revoked several times since inception in 2009 for not paying their taxes and fees.

Stay far away from these criminals. They tried to defraud me out of $25,000!

Check out their Facebook pages and you will see they both must be unemployed given their hourly childish entries. Clearly, they are bored and have nothing better to do but wait for their next victim to stumble across their web site or rely to their marketing letters.
