First off these guys came out to determine if there was a plumbing leak underneath my house. The warranty company that I use sent them. They had to pull the toilet in the half bath in order to do a leak test. They were here for around 2 hours and told me that yes there was a complete seperation (pipes) underneath this toilet and that they would have to drill through the foundation (slab) in order to access the leak.
All this would cost around $1800 and they told me not to use this bathroom because it would just make it worse. No problem. I let them leave so I could sleep on it and a couple days later I started looking at the invoice they left me and realized that they had charged me for a new supply line and also a new angle valve. Well I found the new angle valve still lying on my bathroom floor next to the trashcan and I started looking at the supply line and realized that they had stolen my new braided line that I had put in there a few months back and they left me with some ratty, mildewed copper water line that looked like they found in the back of their truck.
This got me thinking that since they were ripping me off on all this little stuff that there may not even be a leak under the house so I hired a well known plumber in the area and asked him to verify the leak or seperation and just as I thought, no leak or seperation. This plumber actually let me look at the camera through all the pipes underneath my house and we didn't find any seperation anywhere. I have called Scout Plumbing a couple of times and they keep giving me the run around. Please do not use this company. They are the worst of the worst.

The Texas Stae Board of Plumbing Examiners has reviewed this case. The board has officially closed this case stating the evidence provided by Mr. Madison is in-sufficient. It concludes that Scout Plumbing did not do anything wrong. We are more than willing to still work with Mr. Madison to resolve any issues he may still have with Scout Plumbing.

We were sent out to Mark's house by his home warranty to investigate a possible slab leak. Mark was having some foundation issues and his foundation company sent a plumbing company out to his house to test his plumbing lines for leaks before they fixed his foundation issues. The plumbing company, whose name I do not know, said he did indeed have a leak and were unable to locate the leak. Mark then hired us to locate the leak.
We performed our own leak test, a procedure commonly known as a static-head pressure test. Mark was informed that there was a leak in his drain system and he was shown the procedure and how we came up with the conclusion. We did pull the front half bath toilet during our testing and we did locate a leak under that very toilet. Mark was once again notified of the results and given an oppurtunity to look at what we believe is a small seperation in the piping.
Mark is correct in the fact that he was wrongly charged for a new angle valve and supply line. We had 2 trucks on site during the procedure, both are Master plumbers. One of the plumbers wrote up the ticket while the other was completing the work. The angle valve was different than the angle valves we carry, so we rebuilt his existing angle valve to stop it from leaking. Hence the reason he found a new angle valve next to his thrash can that he stats was in pieces. Unfortunately, the plumber who wrote the ticket was unaware the angle stop and supply line were not changed out before he received payment and left. We tried several times to resolve the issue with Mark and we our more than willing to re-imburse him the incorrect charge of $15.00 that he was over charged.
I don't know were Mark thinks we stole his supply line. We have contracts with people and home warranty companies that we are not going risk over a supply line. We carry braded stainless steal supply lines on our trucks at all times and by no means do we need to "steal" more.
Mark did hire a third plumber, Plumbing by Jay. According to Jay's website, he does offer video inspections of the sewer line and leak locating on fresh water lines. Jay's website does not mention anything about locating sewer leaks other than video inspection. We did receive a copy of Jay's invoices to Mark. Jay recommends that a static head pressure test of 10' be performed, but that there are no leaks (contradicting isn't it). Two different plumbing companies have told Mark he has a sewer leak. Mark chooses to accept the diagnosis of a company that only performs video inspections, and recommends a static head pressure test be done. As stated, two other companies have already performed a static head pressure test and say there is a leak. We our more than willing to meet with Jay to prove our claim, if Mark is willing.
We our not dis-crediting or accusing Plumbing by Jay of any wrong doing or mis-leading information. We our simply stating the facts, and what is on his ticket. I'm sure Plumbing by Jay is a great company.
