I recently signed up with VMC Satellite as an "affiliate". The offer sounded GREAT. All I had to do was to give away FREE satellite systems and earn $50 for each one. Anything over 20 per month would earn me $100!

I figured how hard could it be!? They give you YOUR OWN WEBSITE, and help you to market it.

Then they set you up with a stats page, and give you "tips" on marketing your new business. The very first thing you learn is that you need to submitt "your" site to as many search engines, and then they tell you The "Best Service for search engine Placement" (Which happens to be Searchenginranking.com) Here is an actual exerpt from that website:

How does a top-ranking website with new visitors every day sound?
We have built relationships with over 800,000 search engines and directories to ensure that your site gets the maximum exposure and ranking possible. You may have a very impressive and functional website, but you're in trouble if no one knows it exists. We'll submit your website to these search engines and directories so that your site can get listed when people are searching for your products and services.

Well I fell for it and dished out $59.99 (for a 3 month subscription). As of yet, "my" website isnt listed ANYWHERE!

I have also learned that searchengineranking.com and Vmc Satellite are both owned by the same CROOK,, RICK RAHIM.! I am mad as hell and want my money back! I sent an e-mail to search engingranking support but i havent heard a thing back. If anyone knows of any class action lawsuits against this guy please contact me by using the rebuttal box below.

Good luck.

It is YOUR duty to be informed

AUTHOR: Ernest - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 04, 2006

As with any business venture, it is your duty to do your homework. Or, as another way of saying it, your "due diligence".

As David (Iowa) stated in his rebuttal, VMC caters to the "business opportunities" mentality that is so prevalent in our society today. I will add to that: VMC caters to the greed and the desperation on the part of the new affiliate.

It's a bad reflection on Rick Rahim and VMC because he suggests using these services in his training emails and on the admin panel in the affiliates back office.

There are only 3 search engines you really need to be concerned with, and once you're listed with them, you don't want to re-submit to them. The whole notion of re-submitting a site - multiple times - is a ruse which will only get into trouble. The search engines have "spiders" which will find your site soon enough if you know what you're doing.

The problem with a lot of new affiliates to satellite TV is that they are NOT webmasters, and many of them are not told that they will have to go through a "learning curve" to master certain skills at putting together a web site.

Which brings me to another point: I don't recommend VMC affiliates buy into the notion of getting a website from VMC (Rick Rahim, et al), nor do I recommend using their services, because they all point back to VMC.

Now, all in all, if the services and products rendered did what they were purported to do, then it wouldn't be so bad. But the problem herein lies that the websites and SEO services are a pile of ineffective junk! They don't work.

Another thing that Rick does is suggests new affiliates sign up for over 400-500 so called "safelists" in his training emails.

Remember those training emails you get after you sign up as an affiliate?

Well, there's a big number of those 'safelists' that are no longer existent, or they are not real safelists. Most of them are NOT safelists, but rather newsgroups, which makes a big difference.

Newsgroups and safelists operate much different, but with some similarities.

I know: I manage one of them.

At one time - I won't mention the name of the newsgroup - I had over a quarter million members. But when 90% of them were sending repeated messages, over and over, on the same day - sometimes within seconds or minutes from each other - the servers would bog down and the group administrator would be on the horn threatening to pull my plug.

So... less than a year later, I pulled the plug on over a quarter million of the members and dumped them. Today, there are slightly over 255 members in the newsgroup and they receive only legitimate updates to training for their business.

Having said that, I also want to point out that it is by "Invitation Only".

Why do I include this information? Is this persuant to the issue?

Yes, it is. It is because my group is still recommended by Rick Rahim in his lame training emails and it is because he has not modified his autoresponder "training" in over 10 years.

For those affiliates who are struggling to make a commission check with VMC, and are not fluent in certain online strategies, I suggest them them that they follow another strategy for making a real check.

If after they follow the "offline method" of putting out fliers and getting some sales, at least they can beat Rick Rahim at his own game.

One thing I can say for sure: they do pay their commissions. I have the checks and deposits to prove it.

But I would strongly suggesting looking at some other retailers who offer better commissions, too. Perhaps you can look for satellite tv reviews on one of the major search engines and check out some forums where you can get realistic information and training.

I've got to agree: Rick Rahim has done some things less than ethical. Some of them would be considered downright dirty and crooked.

Illegal? Perhaps. But, perhaps you should be contacting the Attorney General's office in Virginia (his home state) and airing your grievances with them. Perhaps they can do something about it.

I've been on sevaral conference calls with Rick - some through other partnerships - and I've addressed some of these concerns with him. At times, I have "locked horns" with him - but to no avail. He just doesn't "get it".

What I have done is come up with a realistic solution to beating him at his own game. I can't give out my number or URL because it will only get edited out of this post.

I've learned how to by-pass search engines altogether and get my sites listed in less than two hours. Manually submitting your sites to the major 3 search engines can take weeks for them to be indexed.

Submitting your affiliate site through any search engine with a dynamic link, such as those used by VMC, will only get deleted due to the new algorithms used by the Big 3.

Oh? Didn't Rick tell you that? Of course not! Because if he told you that, you wouldn't buy his crap! And if you knew that, you wouldn't "buy into" his Search Engine Ranking service!

If it's any comfort to you, I have repeatedly tried to address these issues with Rick, directly, and through snail mail, and with direct phone calls. I've always been put through to one of his assistants, but have yet to receive anything positive back from Rick.

His staff has always been good to get back with me, but when the fish is rotting at the head, there's not much that the rest of the fish to do but stink.

My name is Ernest. Most, if not all, of the satellite affiliates in the U.S. know me, and they know who I am. They also know I "go to bat" for them and make sure they have realistic tools to work with. I don't believe in pawning off a bunch of worthless crap on them, because the end results is this: crap and BS doesn't work.

Real solutions do!

I wish I could offer more help here, but to do so would require me to put in my phone number and URL - which will only get deleted if I do. So I won't.

Perhaps the RipOffReport staff can see fit to contact me and make their own judgement.

In the meantime: do your homework. You're not stupid.

As Forrest Gump would say, "Stupid is as stupid does."

As Ron White would say, "Stupid can't be fixed!"

I say, "Don't be stupid!" Do your homework before you join anything... any business opportunity.

I get calls and emails all the time from enquiring prospects about the satellite TV affiliate business. I give them the "straight poop" on all of them, and will be doing so online at the new satellite tv review site.

To your success,

Satellite Affiliate Program Deceives Affiliates - Ultimately, instead of guiding affiliates to success, VMC leads them around in circles on a wild goose chase designed specifically to get them to spend money

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, May 27, 2006

Like so many "business opportunities", VMC caters to the desire for wealth and financial independence with the intent of not only making a few sales of their product through their affiliates but also making money off the affiliates themselves by insisting they "need" to purchase products or services in order to succeed.

Selling products or services to affiliates would not be so bad if the products or services were actually useful. Unfortunately, in the case of VMC, the service is not useful. It is, in essence, "snake oil" used only to make money off of their own affiliates.

What VMC promotes to their affiliates is a "Search Engine Submission" service. Ask any SEO expert and they will tell you that submitting to the search engines is not only a waste of time but also, if done excessively or improperly, potentially detrimental to your site's search engine listing.

Ultimately, instead of guiding affiliates to success, VMC leads them around in circles on a wild goose chase designed specifically to get them to spend money on an Internet taxi ride (i.e. a search engine submission service) that will only take them in circles faster!

Unfortunately, purchasing the submission service is only one of several serious mistakes most satellite affiliates fall prey to.

WARNING: VMC Satellite Affiliates> Search Engine Ranking Service is indeed a Ripoff

AUTHOR: Susan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, May 21, 2006

Hey, Laura
I too paid for the Search Engine Ranking Service VMC Satellite offers its Affiliates and got nothing out of it! Except I paid for the 1 month $29.99 submission service instead of the 3 month service. It didn't help me get a single sign up on my VMC Satellite website. Unless they have been stealing all of my sign ups straight from the website they gave me. This is what happened after I made the purchase: I was sent an email thanking me for my purchase and was told that I would be receiving a 'comprehensive, detailed report' after the submission. Well that never happened. I sent out 2 emails inquiring about that 'detailed report'(I was supposed to receive as part of the service I paid for) but never got any response from them. I have had nagging doubts about this company for awhile, and now they have been confirmed. So thank you all!!!
