SearchEngineStartup.com got ahold of my cell phone number and put me on an autodialer for their search engine placement service.
I never give out my cell phone number exept to businesses I diretly do business with and only if they require it. The only buisness I have done business with that they could have gotten my phone number was from HOSTGATOR.COM
I don't know how they got my number because I paid to have all of my information private from hostgator. I have checked and my information is indeed private. Therefore they only way I can think they got my information is by working with hostgator.com in some way.
I was very upset after signing up with hostgator and then within 2 weeks having searchenginestartup.com robo-calling my cellphone.
My name listed is an alias so they can't harass me anymore.

I also received telehone calls regarding a domain I recently purchased. This "company" is harvesting personal data from our domain registration WHOIS data for the purpose of telemarketing. This is against ICANN regulations. Anyone can look up domain registration data though you are not allowed to use it for spamming or telemarketing purposes.
The number they are calling is also my cell phone which is also on the Federal Do Not Call list. Currenty, searchenginestartup.​com is hosted through rackspace.com and I have notifed them of the illegal activity happening regarding their client.
Searchenginestartup.​com is breaking the law. Cold calling telemarketing is illegal and calling numbers on the Federal DoNotCall list (as well as cell phones) is also illegal. I have filed a complaint with the FTC regarding this matter.
