Manager Robert Williams

After 18 months as a satisified customer of this storage facility, the owner, Mike Place, replaced the on-site manager with a new employee, who carries a chip on his shoulder. He is a young black male, w/ a sudden postion of authority (or so he thinks) that inititated a scam to first frame me with Federal agents as a Drug Dealer operating from the storage unit, resulting in a raid on my storage that yielded nothing, and after I complained of his actions......

Sign visible from I-15 and Exit 4500 South, Salt Lake City, UT.

He, MANAGER ROBERT WILLIAMS sent me a certified letter, that gave me 24 HOURS to empty out and remove all my belongings, in Violation of Utah State Law. The following is a direct quote from his letter:

"Because of your blatant and irrelevant behavior, and lack of legitimate and concrete transaction history, you are hereby ordered to remove the entirety of all belongings from said storage units (I had 2 10'x 16' units) and therby are permanatly banned from the premises no later than June 4, 2003."

I signed for this letter at the local post office the next day (June 3) after getting the slip in my mailbox on June 2. Utah Law requires a MINIMUM NOTICE OF 30 DAYS TO MOVE OUT, if you have not paid rent, broke your lease , etc. I was not guilty of any of the above. My only "guilt" was developing a friendship with the onsite Manager that preceeded MANAGER ROBERT WILLIAMS, THIEF, CON ARTIST, AND LIAR.

I had at no time been late with my rent, indeed one of my storages was paid for 3 1/2 years in advance at a cost of $2,590, for which I have all recpts. This was an illegal attempt under the Laws of Utah to steal possesion of my personal property that included, but not limited to, expensive live sound equipment (Guitar and Keyboard amplifiers, PA systems, live "D.J." equipment, 2 motorcycles, and an extra motorcyle motor, a car (in one unit) and other items including various tools and home electronics.

This letter arrived appx 2 weeks after Law Enforcemnt officers raided me as I pulled into the storage, after washing my car, and without a warrant, proceeded to search my vehicle and storage unit for illegal contraband and they stated "we got a tip from a reliable source that you are dealing drugs out of here"....

With nothing to fear, as I do not engage in illicit activities, I waived my right to be presented with a Search Warrant outlining the items the Officers were looking for, and of course they found nothing. Guess who this "reliable source" was??????

ROBERT WILLIAMS MANAGER of Secure-N-Store, owned by Mike Place, also Owner of Western Nut Compnay of Salt Lake City.

Upon demand of a refund for my advance payment and notification that I would indeed move out in the allotted time, Mr. Place start back peddeling quickly, informing me that the new on site MANAGER ROBERT WILLIAMS had NO authority to issue the type of letter to me he sent, and was "learning a new job". Mr. Place informed me via telephone that I did not have to vacant said units, and to disregard the letter.

Unfortunatly for Mr. Place, he hired a LIAR THIEF to represent him as his agent, therfore I must assume that I cannot trust the word of Mr. Place, either. So I did not beleive his promise that I "did not have to move", as I had nothing in writing. It is the intent of the Undersinged to bring suit in the Small Claims Court seeking maximum allowable damages for breach of contract, and violations of state law,(Utah Code 38 et.seq) as well as refunding my appx $3000.00 MANAGER ROBERT WILLIAMS refuses to return....

Moving to Salt Lake and looking for a mini storage? Avoid this scam artist thief, and spare yourself the hard work it takes to relocate in a day to save you belongings from unethical buisness operaters.....Secure-N-Store of Murray Utah.

re-scheduling the Small Claims case 3 times.

AUTHOR: Ed - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 03, 2003

After months of attempted service for a Lawsuit on the unethical owner of Secure-N-Stor dating to September, 2003, service was finally completed on the Manager of said company on 1 Dec 2003.

This Company owner had deftly avoided no less than 4 Service attempts, 3 by Sheriff, and one by Certified Mail. A plain clothes Constable was used to complete the Service, after re-scheduling the Small Claims case 3 times.
