Just put the security company name "Securitas" in the search engine that is on the Rip Off Report site and YOU WILL SEE WHAT SORT OF PROBLEMS PEOPLE HAVE WITH THEM. JUST ORDINARY EMPLOYEES WHO SIGNED ON THINKING THAT THEY WOULD HAVE AN ORDINARY TYPE JOB...

If ever there was an industry that needs to be TAKEN OVER AND MORE TIGHTLY REGULATED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT-- IT WOULD HAVE TO BE THE PRIVATE SECURITY CONTRACTING INDUSTRY! Thge pay would get better, at least.

Read about ALL of the security companies listed in the RIP OFF REPORT --- and weep for the people who don't know any better to work for them or the clients who hire them thinking that they are actually going to get real security...

I just couldn't believe that they said that, however, I have all my documentation for everything that has ever happened.

I have V.A. Vocational Rehab but have to wait for my wife to get SSI and SSDI.

I was just curious if anyone has had problems with Securitas directly.

Welcome to the HELL of Private Security contractors. I was in it for 20 years because I worked at night, did not stay working for the same company for more than two and one-half years and I had a commission card which meant that I could carry a firearm on-duty. It was also more money than I could make as a janitor or a dishwasher and my job was outsourced before outsoursing was cool or widespread, I had to do something and it was all that was available.

In Southern states like SC and TX, employees are treated just like they were in the antebellum days --that is, slaves in the cotton patch! And it doesn't make any difference what ethnicity you are because you are garbage to them! NO benefits whatsoever. People who ask for even the least humane courtesies like you did are put on a blacklist and will get JOB REFERENCES FROM HELL when you leave.

If you are still working with these people, I will be surprised.

Many people in security are hardcore, retired military and they usually don't have to worry about medical benefits and other things because they get pensions and they used to get free medical care at any military installation ( I am told this is no longer the case in many instances).

You also have a lot of people who were too inept, authoritarian and psychopathic to make it in the military or even in police work and so they got into private security so they could wear a uniform which transforms them into SUPERPERSON. Adolf Eichman was one of those. So was Heinrich Himmler, get the picture?

And when the law enforcement agencies had rules against hiring gay persons, there were quite a few of those in security too. Many are now in law enforcement.

And you have too many people of low normal to high mentally challenged IQs, people with emotional problems and people who like to abuse other people and hide behind a security uniform, with too little to do and so they deliberately try to stab people in the back, play sadistic mind games, try to see how many ways they can hurt someone because they are bullying, sniveling little Hitler wannabes in private life and the only way they can feel like the are somebody is to put on a polyester uniform ( usually cheap polyester at that) and lord it over subordinants and co-workers...

Sometimes you just got to walk away.

You have one of the worst cases of Security abuse I have encountered yet!

I would learn to drive a semi or move or get into another line of work.

I had to go back to school after I got an uncompensated injury on a security post because the people were too cheap to have either workman's compensation or offer us hospitalization insurance! I had to learn how to do something else and because of those cheap no-goodnicks, I will never be able to be fully mobile again. A whole year without seeing a doctor and by the time I did, osteoarthritis had set in and I was told that if I had gone to the emergency room the night that it happened, my employer would have to have paid for it after all.
I also got BLACKLISTED because I was "careless" even though they have since added more lights to the property where I got hurt...

I don't know how old you are but I can ask you NOT to waste your life with these horrible people. Most employers in the South still think employees are slaves or peons and not people at all. Most employers on the West Coast try but the prices out there are too outrageous to live on a yuppie salary, much less a salaried, hourly security officer check! East Coast, you will probably have a Mafia-owned company and NO protection and then you will be back in the same place you tried to get away from...

It is next to impossible to get a good-paying job in private security. I can remember when they were FORCED to raise the wages because nobody would carry a gun and do the hardcore,dangerous stuff for minimum wage anymore.

I don't know what you were expecting when you got into this but I will tell you about the "lifer" I met.

His name was Bill F. He had an eighth grade education and skin cancer because he was extremely fair-skinned and had been a security officer every since he could remember. He had an old RG that was held together with black electrical tape which would have probably blown up in his hand if he had shot it. He had NO teeth because he COULD NOT AFFORD A DENTIST and HE COULD NOT AFFORD FALSE TEETH. SO he could not chew very much, very well and he was hungry all the time. He could not afford a dermatologist or a oncologist to treat the skin cancer that was eating his arms up because HE COULD NOT AFFORD A DOCTOR! He drove a 1959 station wagon that was held together with baling wire and crudely rigged parts because HE COULD NOT AFFORD A NEW CAR. And he and his wife lives in a flophouse because THEY COULD NOT AFFORD A DECENT DWELLING AND UTILITIES. His uniform was rathe dingy and he was having to sew it together and he could not take a shower because the water was always getting turned off when the flophouse owner decided to get drunk instead of pay the water bill. Bill was COLD in the winter and having heat stroke and skin cancer issues in the summer. I did not like to see a grown man cry but he did whne he lost his wife to an easily treated for of cancer IF HE HAD HAD HOSPITALIZATION INSURANCE or BEEN ABLE TO PAY FOR HER MEDICAL CARE.

Once you have been employed in security it's difficult to get into something else.

I think Bill is probably dead by now. Maybe they put him in a nursing home but he would not have been able to have afforded very much. It would be better than living in that old station wagon which is what he was doing, and still working for a private security company with his shoes held together by black electrical tape, Elmer's glue and cardboard in the soles!

The poor old man could barely read or write but he could sure get exploited by a creep who owned the security company who CLAIMED to have been a former CIA agent and I don't think he made sure his Social Security that had been taken out of his check was actually paid to Social Security!
The company has no obligation to do this, you have to check on them! Most employers are honorable and pay but private security companies are NOT always.

THIS IS WHAT YOU ASPIRE TO WITH A CAREER IN CONTRACT SECURITY!

Your local manager is probably making money off your "pay issues."

Make SURE that they are paying into your Social Security account. Call SSA and ASK them. If not, tell them who your employer is and tell them that they are taking the Social Security out of your check.

If you HAVE to work and have job, this is NOT a good one to have.
