My husband lost his job in Dec 2006. We have had no health insurance or income. We nearly lost everything. I am in need of medications I could not afford out of my own pocket. My meds cost around $2500.00 per month. I started searching every means to find help through some organizations that could help me. I contacted several including Lily which totally ignored my application from my doctor. I found scbn by googling "organizations that can help with prescriptions" I contacted several besides scbn. This is advertised through Montel Williams. You probably have seen the commercial. At first I did not connect the two.

In late June 2008 I telephoned scbn and talked to a Joe Delorosso. He was a fast talker and pressure salesman. He was on the phone with me at least an hour and a half. He pressured me into signing up for only $50.00 and a package would be sent later I would need to fill out and send in. I was under no obligation and this was to submit my application and send me my package. This is all I was told. When he asked me questions on my qualifications he falsified the paper and put us down on having an income gross of $3500.00 per month. This was not true. He said he would do this to make me qualify for their program. My husband nor I had any income. Our only savings was draining fast. He took my credit card info and said a package would come in about 3 weeks. My package did come but I was in such a financial mess and trying to sell my home, find a new temporary home and a job. I just couldn't think about the package. I filed it away and thought I would look at it later. Nothing was ever signed and mailed into them. I had too much on my mind and I forgot about it. But yet my credit card started being deducted $75.00 monthly. I never payed attention to the billing because so many of my other bills was paid through my card. Once my life settled down in Jan 09 I saw a charge to a scbn and thought I better call it because I did not recognize it. It was this prescription company. (scbn)

This is when it began to get nasty with them. I was told I had a verbal agreement with them and that it was legal in Texas. I was furious and told them nothing was ever signed and they had to have a legal signed document from me to do this. They said in TX a verbal agreement is all they need. They stated they did not need that because again in TX it is obviously legal to scam people. They told me I had to prove I had income that would disqualify me but they would not reimburse me my monies. I called my credit card company and disputed the funds. I told them they had no legal authority to charge my card. For now it is in dispute but scbn said they will fight me all the way and get the charges put back on my card. It will be such a fight to stop these people. Please anyone out there that is a lawyer could you please adivse what we can do. I was laughed at and ridiculed by a man with the company. I did'nt get his name and when I asked for it he would only say customer care. He said there was nothing I could do to stop him because it was very legal in TX what he was doing. I stated obviously you are in TX because this state allows scammers to operate there. Again, he laughed at me and kept saying there was nothing I could do and he was going to continue debiting my credit card. When I kept telling him what he was doing was illegal and taking advantage of people who are in desparate situation. "He said why don't you ask me something that will pertain to your meds because it is perfectly legal what we are doing." When I told him I was going to file a complaint with ripoff report he laughed at me again. "How many people have complained about us he asked? I said a few and he said we have over 6000 people signed up with our program and that is not a lot of unhappy people. I said how many have complained to you personally? He would not state. He said look up sprint or other phone companys and they will have hundreds of complaints against them. I said you have 6000 people signed up they have hundreds of thousands. How do you stop people like this. Please, anyone out there. They take people who are in such a desparate position and totally take advantage of them. I am at my wits end and cannot afford to be taken advantage of.

Dear Bobbi,

AUTHOR: Brad @ SelectCare Benefits Network - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 07, 2009

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. I have spent some time going over your case with our Advocate Team, and I think that you will find the resolution to meet your expectations.

I know that you signed up with our service and chose not to use it during the period you were a member. You also decided to get insurance a few months after signing up with Select Care. It was unfortunate that during the time you were a member you chose not to take advantage of your membership. After receiving proof from you regarding your insurance coverage, Select Care refunded you all membership dues that you paid from the time you had coverage through insurance.

We do regret the experience that you had when you were a member. We are certainly happy to offer you a free month of membership if you ever find yourself again without insurance, as when you signed up with us. We are confident that in this time period of using your membership, you will not only receive your medications but also be very happy with our ability to assist you in receiving your medications. Please contact me at 512-406-5057 so that we can get you started.
Sincerely,

Brad Williams
