I saw an ad for a Free Trial of skin care product by select skin. It claimed it could help with wrinkles, etc, and for only $4.95 shipping fee. Nowhere was there mention that this was a 14-day trial, and that after those 2 weeks I would be charged over $80. And, in order to get the "free trial" they toss in another "amazing" skin cream, again for only $4.95 as a bonus free trial.
I figured for the cost of shipping if the skin products weren't any good I wouldn't be set back too badly. Instead, I was charged over $80 for each prodcuct, and they aren't even so-so good products!! One is too thin to do anything meaningful, and the other is basically a run-of-the-mill cold cream! Had I known that I had to call back within 2 weeks time and cancel a subscription I would have done it the first day I tried these useless products!! But I had no idea, and I still cannot see where they advised me I had 14 days to cancel a subscription! I never had a clue I was subscribing or I would have passed on this awful scam to begin with. There is no mention anywhere about a subscription.
When I noticed my credit card was charged 2 times for over $80 each time, I was sure my card had been compromised and immediately contacted my cc company to cancel my card and dispute the charges. One company was Eyecare WBC,and the other was Speechless Eyecare. Neither of these companies was listed in the advertisement, nor were they mentioned when I entered my payment information. I tried to the phone number for one of the companies but the number has been disconnected. Then the other number is just a call center where they have people handling calls for several scams.
When I told the operator I wanted my money back he offereed me a $180 dollar discount on two additional bottles of the same junk!!! Then he told me about the subscription, the 14 days, and how I was made aware of the time limit! I told him I would contact the Attorney General and he then sounded very nervous and quickly tried to prevent me from doing that. He stated again that I knew about the 14 days, and that the Attorney General wouldn't help me. He kept going on until I hung up!
When I refused the original offer he then offered 50% off the subscription...even after I told him it was junk, and I wanted my money refunded. I also offered to return the products but he could only keep trying to get me to subscribe and continue buying this junk.
