If you are in located Colorado, and are outside of the Denvoid area, do not use Select Staffing. I was hired with this company from a job fair in Loveland that I found on Craigslist. They called me a few months later, and asked if I would show up to a Wendy's to help tear it down, and do site clean up. I guess everyone else moved on to other jobs. Because I was the only guy who showed up, but they kept telling the site foreman they were going to send 5 or 6 more guys, but they never showed up .

For all I know I was the only one from Fort Collins who showed up to the job fair at all, but that doesn't matter. The supervisor kept calling them, and asking them where everyone else was, and they kept lying to him and saying they were sending more people. I showed up at 10 and worked until 6, doing all the work myself until he told the dry wallers to help with clean up. I was wondering why he did not just call Labor Ready.

I called them up, because my check had not arrived when it was supposed to. They asked me, if I wanted them to mail it. I love in Fort Collins, as if I am going to drive all the way to Denver just for a $72 check. When the check had arrived it was only for $36. Appariently the guy said I only worked 4 hours, but they said they would correct it, and the check would be sent out next Friday. I waited again, and the check had still not arrived.

I had to call them up again, and ask where it was, they said he was sticking to his story that I only worked 4 hours. I wanted to know the name of his construction company because I would threaten to put a lean on that Wendy's until he paid me, but they would not give it to me. Each time they said they would call me back, they wouldn't and I would have to call them. I called them once, and they put me on hold for 10 minutes as if to avoid the issue.

These people are very unprofessional. They have stated, they are still not going to send the check, because there is no documentation I worked the other 4 hours. I know I should have gotten written documentation, but they never assigned me with work tickets, and besides I would not expect this guy to lie about 4 f*cking hours. You probably don't care that they ripped me off of $36 but you should know if you are thinking of using them, that if they do not have the workers needed, they will just bullshit you and say they have them anyway.

I looked at their website and they are located in over 20 states, nationwide, appariently they are trying to compete with Labor Ready. I have worked for Labor Ready before. Labor Ready will drive a worker to a job site, or have someone come pick them up and take them, or call and inform them no one can make it. This place just bullshits and says they are on the way, because they want the client? I guess since they do not have people they send out from their office, with dirtbags face to face with them, asking where their money is, they think they can rip-off employees and clients all the same.

I was surprised to learn they were a corporation at all, as unprofessional and dishonest as they are. They operate like a sleazy Ma & Pa operation. They can thank whatever a**hole this is, who was the job foreman for getting them written up in RipoffReport for the first time.

"The check is in the mail"

AUTHOR: Andrew - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 19, 2008

I just spoke to a woman who worked there. And they said they are issuing a new pay check that they will be sending out this Friday. I will see if it arrives.

I had to call her today, and ask that they do so. Had they called me back, I would have assumed "the check was in the mail." I naturally assumed that it wasn't. Still, very unprofessional.

Sorry if the original text is difficult to read, because when filing a report it said not to indent paragraphs and double lines, just 3 spaces, so I thought they meant not to indent.
