Recently we stayed at Myrtle Beach Villas II for a spring vacation.  Overall the vacation was great
and the property we stayed in also excellent, however, there seems to be quite a scam going on in that building.

Heres the scam.  The property manager, Billy Rivera, walks the parking deck and orders a car to be
towed for being parked illegally.  The car is towed almost immediately without warning so you have no chance to see what is supposed to be wrong with the parking, if indeed there is anything
wrong at all.  You then have to go to the towing company to get your car back and pay $160.00 for the privilege.   I can only guess what happens to the $160 but I wouldn't be surprised if two people
make $80 each.

This happened to us with a correctly parked vehicle, displaying the properly marked parking pass over the space of about an hour while we were out walking.  Obviously I was not happy and called the person we were renting from who mentioned it was not the first time this has happened.  They were very apologetic and actually refunded us the $160 towing fee.

This is the oldest game in the book, and a sure fire way to upset folks, so if I were you Myrtle Beach Villas, I would have a long look at how your parking is being handled.

Ill be talking to the City next to see if they have complaints against this individual.

HOA Management Company

AUTHOR: Billy - (United States)

POSTED: Monday, July 30, 2018

I am just seeing this post. While it has been many years I tend to get the same complaint about cars being towed. We are an HOA management company that must follow are bylaws and rules and regulations of each HOA. There are signs posted all over the property concerning the towing of vehciles. The community allowed us to hire a towing company that manages each and every tow. IF there are mistakes made, then the towing company does not charge. In this case, the tow company found it necessary to tow this car and charge the owner. We have signed contracts with all tow companies and they must adhere to the contract. So sorry this happened, but if there was a way around it we would have assisted. Thank you
