Shade Tree Appliance & Recycling Puchased used washer and dryer that do not work at all Maple Grove Minnesota

  Our nightmare began on 2/2/15. I purchased a used washer and dryer after seeing an ad on Craigslist. I spoke with Dana. She explained the 1yr warranty and the 11-12 pt inspection of all appliances. A delivery date of 3/5 was given to me. We did not get the appliances until 3/14. When I would call for an update, Dana, Chelsie, and maybe an Amber? would always have some excuse, blaming the delivery guys for being lazy or incompetent. Finally, Dave the supposed service tech, delivered the appliances.

The washer did not spin the clothes properly and the dryer did not dry, even a small damp load (not wet). After multiple calls, Dave came back to service the appliances. He said the washer was not repairable. My husband and I, then watched as Dave removed a large ball of lint, the size of a regulation football. He had multiple excuses when questioned about the supposed inspection all appliances go through. Dave told my husband to come and pick out a new washer at Shade Tree. My husband did that the next day. On 3/19, Dave personally delivered a different washer, and guess what??

IT DID NOT WORK! It would not fill with water. All of our water lines and dryer vents are in working order, so that was not the problem. When Dave left our house, he told my husband, "Don't worry, I will take care of you." Well, it is Oct and we do not have a working washer or dryer. My husband and/or I would call, every 1-2 weeks for an update. In the beginning of May, when my husband called, he was told, "Calling everyday would not help!" Of course, no one identifies themselves when answering the phone. I continued to call about once a month. I would request to talk to either Dave or the owner. No one ever returned my call.

When I would speak to someone, there was always an excuse or no record of the previous call. This company does not keep records of concerns or issues. On 9/17, I spoke with April, someone new. She seemed genuinely concerned and said she would at least call me back. She did and had me speak with John, the new service tech, as Dave no longer works there. I explained the problems with John and he said it did not sound like the appliances could be repaired. I expressed concern about the business' new location in Maple Grove instead of Big Lake, which was out of the free delivery range.

He said he would check with his boss and see what he could do, as we are still under warranty. April called my husband on 9/18 and told him that Shade Tree would no longer deliver to Rice (66 miles vs 38 miles before). She then suggested that we load and bring the washer and dryer to Shade Tree on Sat 9/19, and she would exchange them for different ones. April also told my husband that he cannot tell anyone, as she would be FIRED! This is not acceptable!! No one else has serviced these appliances and we are still under warranty. What are we to do?
