They send a check for $4955 and a letter to my house. The check was to be cashed into my bank account.
They said I had been selected as a secret shopper and I was to go to Wal-mart to survey their customer service by me doing a money gram transaction for all the money minus $800 which I was to keep as payment for the time I spent going this. I was to call them before doing anything with the check to verify it which I did.
I put the check into my bank account and the check came back as a fraudulent check. My bank put a hold on the check except for a hundred dollars which I spent because I was expecting to be paid for the service I was going to do for them.

I received the same letter and while reading it what stuck out to me was "deposit into YOUR bank account." I contacted the police, it is a fraud...I called "shadow shoppers" and said, if you want me to do this, send a money order and I'll be glad to go evaluate the local money gram center. They said no way and I told them I will not be cashing any of their stupid checks as think about it, their address was listed as Canada the check was in Maryland. I also called the REAL shadow shopper, they are a legit company! It clearly states on their website that they will NEVER send letters through regular mail, ONLY e-mail. They also asked should you receive a letter from this fake shadow shopper criminal group send it to them (I'll include address below) as they are working with the secret service in effort to shut down this group. I'm sorry you were taken in by this group...it is a sad, sad thing...

THIS IS A HUGE SCAM GOING ON FOR YEARS. PLEASE DO NOT CASH THESE CHECKS BUT DO TURN THEM IN TO YOUR BANKS FRAUD DIVISION. I AM IN CA AND WE GOT ONE TOO. THEY ARE MAKING THERE WAY AROUND THE US SO BEWARE OF ANYONE WHO ASKS YOU TO CASH THEIR CHECK IN RETURN FOR A MONEYGRAM!!!
