Shake-A-Paw THIS PLACE IS SELLING SICK PUPPIES! RIPOFF Hicksville New York

I bought a puppy from Shake-a-Paw in Delco Plaza in Hicksville. He was paid for on 12/16/06 (over $2,000)and was supposed to be picked up 12/24/06 (Christmas Eve).

I received a phone call on 12/21/06 telling me that my puppy has kennel cough and cannot be taken home until they "take care of it". Although very anxious for my new puppy...I waited it out. I visited "Sammie" pretty much every day. He "seemed" to be getting better...but I'm no vet.

Finally on 01/02/07 they called me. They told me that they took "Sammie" to the vet that day and he is 100% better and ready to go home. I was so excited. I went to pick him up when i got out of work at 7pm.

When i went in there was another couple there going through the same problem. The guy that worked at shake-a-paw asked me to speak with them and tell them not to worry because I went through the same thing and now my puppy is fine.

I took one look at their dog and he looked worse then mine. He looked lathargic & frail. I swallowed my tongue (which i shouldn't have) and told them im sure he would be fine. I knew I was probably wrong.

Anyway, I took my puppy home that night. He seemed very playful, but was vomitting all night. I figured he was just all wound up and let him be for the night. Plus i knew he was being taken to the vet the very next morning.

The vet told me the dog was still sick w/kennel cough (which the pet store told me he was cured of). They also did a fecel analysis, but results did not come back until the next day.

That night after the vet, the puppy would not stop vomiting. His temperature seemed to be going up as well. I decided to take him back to the vet the next morning.

It turned out the puppy had two different paracites and his cough had gotten severly worse. The doctor deemed him unfit for sale.

Since then, I have been researching this store and they have had so many complaints of this nature and have not done anything about it. I am going down there tomorrow and demanding full refund.

This place needs to be shut down! They are selling sick dogs and saying they are 100% healthy.
