Shaw Carpets Defective Carpet Dalton Georgia

I purchased Shaw Harbourfields II, 306 Ocean View Carpet in 2015. The carpet has a 15-year stain, soil, pet stains, texture retention and abrasive wear warranty. The company will not honor the warranty. The pile is coming up (sprouts). Sprouting occurs when the yarn tufts rise above the pile of the carpet, somewhat like a planted seed. Some causes of carpet sprouting include the yarn isn’t glued down properly, carpet yarns are inserted too high and the carpet absorbs liquid and holds stains, which our carpet does. In addition, the abrasion wear is terrible. The carpet that this carpet replaced lasted over sixteen years.

I contacted the seller, Coastal Floor Covering Inc in Savannah Georgia, and they agreed and contacted Shaw. They sent an “expert” who crawled around the floor taking snips and running tests. He claimed that we caused the problem. My wife and I are senior citizens and are the only occupants.

I wasted a lot of money on Shaw carpet. Never again.
