How many people have received a certificate from Shell Vacations that Holiday Travel of America was the agency booking that certificate and had trouble getting their trip.
Is Shell Vacations aware of all the BBB complaints and all the complaints on this forum from Holiday Travel of America. If they are should the attorney general of CA and Shell Vacations headquaters in IL be made aware.
We have two certificates that were given to us from Shell Vacations at two different times. Neither of the two certificates we had we travel on because we didn't have the money to upgrade, so we were told our dates are not good to travel unless we came up with the money to upgrade our free trips.
I gave up and requested my taxes to be sent back. Shell Vacations should be ashamed of themselves for givenaway something that is worthless just to get people to visit their condos.
We would love to hear from people that had the same experience as us. Thank you and God Bless

Confused about HTOA problems

I've seen plenty of reports of problems from various posters on these boards. My wife and I have taken several "free" trips through them sans taxes. They have worked out just fine without any problems or complications. There is a quirky redemption process where you need to submit a claim for to validate your gift, and then you can move forward with submitting your claim for an actual trip.
We have not had problems with upgrades, hidden fees, or the inability to book our trips.

This is a group for all people that have purchased Shell Vacations Club Time Share and now feel sorry after finding out that it is a total rip off!!
Lets get together and spread the word about Shell Vacations Time Share.
Shell Vacations sales staff used questionable tactics and pressure tactics to try and sell an owner/time share. They talk of 5250 "points" as if they were dollars by subtracting the $679 management fee when in fact (their words) the points were convertible to $ at a 5 to 1 ratio that is 20 cents. Now my annual 5250 pts. $1050. Minus $679 management fee is worth $371 a year.
This for $23, 000 works out to 1.6%. If the value of the points stays at 20 cents and the maintenance does not rise. Who decides the value of the points? At 13 cents /point you earn 0%.
Put your money in a G.I.C. and go where you want when you want.
