Company's insurance agent assured us 14 years ago we were totally covered except for $2,500 deductible and we paid them over $30,000 in premiums over the years without a single claim until a 100 year ice storm occurred and damaged our entire roof and partial interior.

Shelter's insurance adjuster inspected our home and stated we were not covered, we then hired independent experts to inspect our home and they submitted under oath that extent of our damage was extensive and contractors submitted bids for the repairs approximating $70,000.

Shelter still refused to pay and it was necessary for us to pay for the repairs by using our retirement savings to protect our investment because it was in the middle of winter.  It then became necessary for us to hire an attorney to sue them for Bad Faith and Breach of Contract.

After 2 years and 3 weeks before trial their attorneys recommended settlement and they finally paid our
claim before the trial date but it cost us over $16,200 in attorney's fees and expert witness fees.

They are not to be trusted and we recommend placing your insurance with more reputable insurance companies.
