I am a 24 year old stay at home mom who is being harassed by Sherman Acquisitions, Capitol Managment, Northland Group and all of their people. I had a credit card issued to me when I was 18 and just out of high school. I never paid on the debt and it kept haunting. I have never said the debt wasnt mine but the way they have harassed me about it is down right illegal.
I looked up the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act on the net and found a dozen laws that they have broken. It has effected my family and me so much we are basically in hiding. i am at a loss as to wht I need to do with these people and how to get them to stop harassing.

I just got through being harrassed but Capital Management and Sheman ACQ for an old Sears card. It is awful how they break the laws and continue to stay in business.
They purchased your debt for less than face value and will deal with you and settle the debt for less than owed. Make an offer when you have the cash to pay it off... like offer 50% of the balance and see if they bite. Just get it over with as soon as possible and keep an eye on your credit report to make sure it doesn't get sold to another company after you pay it off.
