On January 2, 2015 We replied to a Craigs List ad for someone looking for an expereinced Tile guy to help out Scott Sizemore since his guy had been in a wreck. The job post stated that is was 130 sq foot job. We replied to the posting and felt that our company had the proper expierience to be able to assist, and make some extra money doing some weekend work after Christmas. Scott called us and spoke with us over the phone and said that we were hired and gave the address for the Home owner and asked us to meet him the next morning at the home where the project needed to be completed. When we spoke with Scott he informed us it was a cut and dry job and the tile just needed to be laid and would pay $2 per square foot.
The next morning Saturday our Contractor arrived at the home and met Scott as well as the Homeowner. When our Contractor took a look at the job and realized it was a lot more entailed then what Scott had made us to believe. The job was not ready to go- It was minimum 150 sqft,The home owner had purchase membrane that needed to be laid, a shower that needed to be tiled and several custom cuts that needed to be completed, as well as a membrane border along the wall. Our Contractor proceeded with the job since he had already stated he would help out. Once our Contractor started Scott excused himself from the room and sat outside for 4+ hours on the phone leaving his project unattended. After this time Scott handed our Contractor $100 to show good faith and left the job site. This was the last time anyone saw Scott Sizemore or saw any additional money. Our Contractor spoke to the Homeowner to find that Scott had bid $550 for the total job and the Homeowner found him on Craigslist paid him in full and cash
Sunday morning we started to feel a little uneasy about the additional request the Homeowner had asked of our Contractor and felt that this was way beyond what we had been hired to do. We contacted Scott and he promptly returned our phone calls in which he agreed that he was wrong about the square footage and that he would pay an extra $100 for the additional work that was done and would pay us an addtional $300 for all the extras the Homeowner was asking for. As he stated on the phone "He paid $500K for his house, he wants the job done and will pay the extra" Scott asked us to address all the extras with the Homeowner and to inform him that these were additional costs. We asked if he would be at the property on Sunday to discuss the additional costs with the Homeowner since this was his project-He stated he would not be at the property. We felt completely uncomforatble at this point, but we had a great homeowner and didnt want to leave him with an unfinished project. We arrived at the property and put in anothers day work. While onsite the Homeowner tried reaching Scott who refused to take his calls. The Homeowner while we were onsite looked into Scott Sizemores company Shield Restoration online to find that he had a F Rating with the BBB, and found several reviews that he had taken people's money and disappeared as well on his company Facebook page.
Needless to say Scott Sizemore disappeared completely on this project. He took the home owners money and didnt pay us as the Contractor. The project now sits undone and two parties at wits end with no money.
Shiled restoration is a complete scam- He lowballs his bids-hire's contractors off of Craigslists takes the money and runs. His buisness address listed online is a forclosed home and sits vaccant. If you in anyway come across Scott Sizemore and his company we highly recommend you do not do buisness with this man. He is very charming and a great saleman but a brillant scam artist. We are taking legal at this point and hope to prevent anyone else having to go through the stress that good hard working people trying to make a living are no longer taken advantage of.

I do not know the author of this complaint although I would love to speak with him. I fully believe everything he has written as I too am a victim of Shield Restoration and Mr. Sizemore. I have filed my own Ripoff Report on this site. Please note that as of October 12, 2015, my insurance company was able to obtain a judgement against Shield Restoration. I would believe a legal judgement is of public record so a little google search may provide you the legal documentation. My insurance company is State Farm. Our loss occurred in May 2013. It disgusts me to see that Shield Restoration continues to scam people and run a sham of a "company" in such an unlawful manner. I am sharing my story on every website possible in hopes that this company will be shut down. My situation was very similar. Shield Restoration did not have any employees although I was led to believe otherwise. Subcontractors were hired to do my roof replacement.
Signifcant damage took place. Shield Restoration did NOT pay any money to the subcontractors who were simply following his orders. He walked away with $8,500 of our deposit. He refused to file an much needed insurance claim for our damage (close to $20,000 - the judgement we just won). I have email communication between Mr. Sizemore and myself documenting everything. I reported him to the Attorney General and he lied saying his insurance covered all our damage and the case was closed - that was back in 2013. Again, we just obtained a judgement on October 12, 2015. Our case was not closed prior to that. Please, please do your research. He is a smooth talker but will take your money and run. If you are a victim, please, please report him to the Ohio Attorney General.
This man must be stopped before he finds another victim. to the author of this article, please try to contact me. There is strength in numbers and I am currently working with a recent victim of Shield Restoration. I live in Middletown, Ohio. My name is Betsy. We have a historic home near downtown. Just ask around downtown. I buy my coffee all the time at Java Johnny's. People will know how to point you to me! Unfortunately I cannot print my contact information here for you - or I would. State Farm was successful holding Shield Restoration responsible. Judgement dated October 12, 2015. Claim number 35-2M75-604. Loss date of May 7, 2013. Now we need to come together and recoup the thousands of dollars that were stolen from his victims. Hopefully this will paint a clear picture of the illegal business this scam artist operates.

Mr. Sizemore-it's nice to see you have crawled up out of the hole you hide in. Your claims are in fact false. As previously stated we had met you in January of 2015. By your response I can see two obvious reasons you should not be working in the Ohio Valley and once again your reputation online proceeds you-as anyone doing buisness with you can find simply by doing some research online. In fact a very good source would be the Better Buisness Bearu that clearly states your company has an F rating
1. You once again stated you hired someone and provided no money to the person in November (not our company)
2. It is obvious you hired someone after providing a quote to home owner who was unqualified to perform work you stated your company would provided-hence you are having unqualified complete stranges showing up to Homeowners houses.
Sir, I would suggest that you have a staff on hand who is qualified and has proper equipment to complete jobs before going out on Craigslist and hiring "Handymen". Providing quotes to Homeowners for jobs you are unable to complete is unethical.
I can see simply from your response you have done this several times to Contractors "Handymen" and Homeowners considering you have us confused with someone who you apparently performed work for in November of 2014.

This Supposed Tile Layer is a Handy man that showed up and had no tools and and was unable to perform his job... And this was back in November of last year. He had little to no experience , tried using the customers tools and had no idea what he was doing... No money was exchanged.
