I drive a 2004 Honda CR-V, purchased at Tracy Honda. I put after market speakers in the front from Hangtown Sounds. For some reason, the speakers would bounce loose from the connection and I'd lose all sound. This happened three times, each time I brought my car back to Hangtown Sounds for correction. The fourth time I had had it, so I went to Shingle Springs Honda. They told me that "unshielded wiring fried the audio driver" and they wanted to sell me a new unit, for 1469.32!
I went back to Hangtown Sounds, they reconnected the wires (there were no unshielded wires, I saw them, I know this), and my 6-disc cd/radio/cassette deck was back on line.
This is not the first time I've NOT done what Shingle Springs Honda told me to do.
DO NOT GET YOUR CAR REPAIRED (unless it's warrantee work) AT SHINGLE SPRINGS HONDA! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND LIE TO YOUR FACE!

I wrote them a letter outlining what they had TRIED to do, told them I had reported them to Honda USA as well as ripoffreport.com, called them a few choice words and demanded the $85 diagnostic fee returned to me.
I received a phone call from "Wayne," the service supervisor, yesterday, November 29, stating that they refunded my $85 to the credit card used (got proof today), and THAT THEY NO LONGER WANTED MY BUSINESS!!! As though I'd ever go there again!
Moral of the story, never give up!
