Found a "too good to be true" bike for sale. An $8,000 bike being sold for $2500. The seller states that he is in Alaska on an oil rig with no phone contact available.
He sends an email stating that the bike is currently held with SHIP-AMERICAN, a holding company.
You are then told that you will need to send the money via Western Union to London England. Once the money gets to them, they will ship the bike to your door within 72 hours.
The SHIP-AMERICAN website (http://www.ship-american.com/index.php) looks real, but was told that the company does not have telephone service available since they are getting a new provider.
I performed a WHO-IS on the website and found that the domain was registered in Beijing.
This looks to me like an elaborate scam.

Of course it's a scam. What should've sounded the alarm bells in your head was the fact that you had to WESTERN UNION the money. Anytime Western Union or Money Gram is involved, IT'S A SCAM.
And you said it yourself. $8000 worth of motorcycle for $2500. Free cheese only comes in a mousetrap.
