I've had the same problem with this TV. My wife bought this TV for my 50th B-day. 1 year later the optical drive went. Lost the picture. Took me 8 weeks to finally find out who to contact. Optical drive unit went for 794.00 (which I didn't pay for due to a screw up on their part).

Now, 3 years later, just replaced lamp (available online for 139.00) and did it myself, saving 150.00 service call. 1 week later, now have a fan noise coming from optical engine again. ( told by service person from DELTA Products, he sees this all the time on this TV)
This TV and company is a peice of crap. SHOPNBC would have nothing to do with it from day one. Biggest mistake of our lives.

Don't ever buy a TV off the TV. You'll live to regret it!!!
