Showtime Productions / Justin M. Stuart Expo Exhibitor Scam Dartmouth Nova Scotia

My company educates and protects families from the devastation of home fires. We use local Expos, fairs, etc to obtain leads and meet families in the local area.

Looking online for upcoming events, we found "The Louisville Fall Home Decorating and Remodeling Show" at the Kentucky Exposition Center. One of our staff contacted a Mr. Justin M. Stuart to inquire of the availability at the show. He said that there were only a few spots left he would try to get us in, but that we better hurry and PAY in order to secure our booth at the event.

We told him we wanted a spot, this occured on or about the 4th of August. A few days later, Mr. Stuart calls my staff and informs them that he hasn't received our fax of the contract to hold the spot, and that there were only a few left, that we better hurry.

On Aug 11, 2008, I faxed the contract in, mailed in the check's, two for $375 each for a total of $750. The show was scheduled at the Expo Center for September 5-7.

My checks cleared on the 4th, the same day staff went to the Expo Center to set up, and we met by others attempting to do the same. And were informed by Expo staff that the event was canceled.

In contacting Showtime Productions, needless to say, they weren't answering phones, go figure! So we spoke to the Sales & Marketing staff at the Expo Center, and they informed us that they had emailed Showtime on Aug 1, that the space was no longer available to Showtime for lack of payment.

Showtime did return my call to inform me that the show was not canceled but postponed. To when? They don't know. To what venue? They don't know that either. Go Figure huh?

Though they knew there was no event going to be held at the Expo center Sept. 5-7, they told us we better hurry. And now refuse to refund our money!

My guess, never was going to be a show, and will never see our $750! But we owe it to all other small business owners out there so they aren't taken too.
